Because there is no abandonment, it is emptiness. Why is that? Because its nature is such, it is called non-abandonment emptiness. Among them, what is self-nature emptiness? Whether it is conditioned or unconditioned phenomena, whatever is the nature of all phenomena, that is not done by the Shravakas, not done by the Pratyekabuddhas, not done by the Bodhisattvas, and not done by the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, because it is impermanent and indestructible. Self-nature is self-nature emptiness. Why is that? Because its nature is such, it is called self-nature emptiness. Among them, what is the emptiness of all phenomena? The so-called all phenomena are form, feeling, perception, formations, consciousness, as well as eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind, as well as form, sound, smell, taste, touch, dharma, as well as eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, mind consciousness, as well as the contact of the eye and its combination, as well as the contact of the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind and their combination, as well as the feeling born from the contact of the eye and its combination, as well as the feeling born from the contact of the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind and their combination, as well as form phenomena, as well as formless phenomena, as well as conditioned phenomena, as well as unconditioned phenomena, these are called all phenomena, because they are impermanent and indestructible. All phenomena are empty of all phenomena. Why is that? Because its nature is such, it is called the emptiness of all phenomena. Among them, what is the emptiness of self-characteristics? The self-characteristic of form is corruptible, the self-characteristic of feeling is to experience, the self-characteristic of perception is to grasp, the self-characteristic of formations is to manifest and create, the self-characteristic of consciousness is to distinguish, because it is impermanent and indestructible. What is the self-characteristic of conditioned phenomena, and the self-characteristic of unconditioned phenomena?

All those dharmas, whatever their characteristics may be, are empty of their respective characteristics. Why is that? Because that is its nature. That is called emptiness of self-nature. What is the emptiness of non-objectification? Whatever dharmas have arisen in the past, future, and present are without objectification. The past does not objectify the future, nor does the future objectify the past, nor do the present objectify the past and future. Because there is no permanence and no destruction, non-objectification is empty of non-objectification. Why is that? Because that is its nature. That is called emptiness of non-objectification. What is the emptiness of non-entity? It is that which does not objectify any entity. Because there is no permanence and no destruction, non-entity is empty of non-entity. Why is that? Because that is its nature. That is called emptiness of non-entity. What is the emptiness of own-being? It is that which does not objectify any own-being. Because there is no permanence and no destruction, own-being is empty of own-being. Why is that? Because that is its nature. That is called emptiness of own-being. What is the emptiness of own-being of non-entity? Because dharmas arise dependently, there is no own-being of dharmas arising from aggregation. Because there is no permanence and no destruction, aggregation is empty of aggregation. Why is that? Because that is its nature. That is called emptiness of own-being of non-entity. Furthermore, Subhuti, that which is called emptiness of own-being of non-entity: entity is empty of entity, non-entity is empty of non-entity, own-being is empty of own-being, the entity of others is empty of the entity of others. What is entity? Entity is the five aggregates. Because these five aggregates are unborn, they are without objectification. Thus, entity is empty of entity.

If it is said that non-things are also empty because of non-things, how is it empty? The so-called non-thing refers to the unconditioned. For it, the unconditioned is also empty because of the unconditioned. In this way, non-things are empty because of non-things. If it is said that self-nature is empty because of self-nature, how is it empty? The so-called self-nature refers to the non-inverted self-nature. For it, whatever is emptiness is not made by knowledge, nor is it made by views. Therefore, that is called self-nature emptiness. Then, what is other-thing emptiness? Whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, the abiding nature of the Dharma, the Dharma-nature, the Dharma-realm, the faultless nature of the Dharma, suchness, the non-erroneous suchness, the non-different suchness, and the true limit, are all abiding nature. In this way, whatever is empty by others is called other-thing emptiness. Subhuti, this is the Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Subhuti, furthermore, the Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, for example: the Samadhi called Courageous Conduct, the Samadhi called Precious Seal, the Samadhi called Lion's Playful Dance, the Samadhi called Good Moon, the Samadhi called Moon Banner Top, the Samadhi called Superior to All Dharmas, the Samadhi called Universal View of the Top, the Samadhi called Determination in the Dharma-realm, the Samadhi called Determination Banner Top, the Samadhi called Vajra Jewel, the Samadhi called Entering All Dharma Seals, the Samadhi called Abiding in Samadhi like a King, the Samadhi called Universally Emitting Light, the Samadhi called Arrayed Forces, the Samadhi called Righteous Victory, the Samadhi called Entering Determined Word Indication, the Samadhi called Entering Supreme Meaning Word, the Samadhi called Observing in Directions, the Samadhi called Holding the Seal Completely.
