and the terms of having signs, not having signs, having aspirations, and not having aspirations are not. Thus it is said. Subhuti asked: World Honored One, if form is fundamentally non-existent and invisible, how can a Bodhisattva become a term of form? World Honored One, if feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness are fundamentally non-existent and invisible, how can a Bodhisattva become a term of consciousness? World Honored One, if permanence and impermanence are fundamentally non-existent and invisible, how can a Bodhisattva become a term of permanent form? Similarly, if happiness and suffering, having self and not having self, peace and non-peace, emptiness and non-emptiness, having signs and not having signs, having aspirations and not having aspirations are fundamentally non-existent and invisible, how can a Bodhisattva become a term of form without aspirations? World Honored One, similarly, if permanence and impermanence are fundamentally non-existent and invisible, how can a Bodhisattva become a term of consciousness of permanence and impermanence? Similarly, if happiness and suffering, having self and not having self, peace and non-peace, emptiness and non-emptiness, having signs and not having signs, having aspirations and not having aspirations are fundamentally non-existent and invisible, how can a Bodhisattva become a term of not having aspirations? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, well done! Well done! A Bodhisattva Mahasattva, practicing thus in the Perfection of Wisdom, does not fixate on the terms of form. Feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness do not fixate on the terms of impermanence. Form does not fixate on the terms of permanence and impermanence, happiness and suffering, having self and not having self, peace and non-peace, emptiness and non-emptiness, having signs and not having signs, having aspirations and not having aspirations. Feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness do not fixate on the terms of permanence.

Furthermore, one should train in the Perfection of Wisdom without focusing on the words and phrases related to the impermanence of consciousness, as well as feelings of pleasure and pain, the existence or non-existence of a self, peace and non-peace, emptiness and non-emptiness, signs and signlessness, aspirations and non-aspirations. Subhuti, you should say: 'I have not truly seen the dharma that is called a Bodhisattva.' Subhuti, dharma does not truly see the realm of dharma, and the realm of dharma does not truly see dharma. Subhuti, the realm of form does not truly see the realm of dharma, and the realm of dharma does not truly see the realm of form. Subhuti, similarly, the realms of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness do not truly see the realm of dharma, and the realm of dharma does not truly see the realm of consciousness. The realm of the eye does not truly see the realm of dharma. Similarly, the realms of the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind do not truly see the realm of dharma, and the realm of dharma does not truly see the realm of mind. Subhuti, the conditioned realm does not truly see the unconditioned realm, and the unconditioned realm does not truly see the conditioned realm. Why is that? Because without the conditioned, one cannot posit the unconditioned, and without the unconditioned, one cannot posit the conditioned. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, they do not truly see any dharma. Because they do not truly see, they are not afraid, not alarmed, and not intimidated. Their mind does not shrink back from any dharma, they are not afraid, and their mind does not become regretful. Why is that? Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way.

Because of practice, form is not truly seen accordingly. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are also not truly seen accordingly. The eye is not truly seen accordingly. Ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are also not truly seen accordingly. Form is not truly seen accordingly. Sound, smell, taste, touch, and phenomena are also not truly seen accordingly. Ignorance is not truly seen accordingly. Formations, consciousness, name and form, the six sense sources, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, becoming, birth, old age, and death are also not truly seen accordingly. Desire is not truly seen accordingly. Hatred and delusion are also not truly seen accordingly. Self is not truly seen accordingly. Sentient being, life, nurture, person, individual, the one who is born, power-born, power-child, the maker, the feeler, the knower, the seer are also not truly seen accordingly. The desire realm is not truly seen accordingly. The form realm and the formless realm are also not truly seen accordingly. Hearers and the teachings of hearers are also not truly seen accordingly. Solitary Buddhas and the teachings of solitary Buddhas are also not truly seen accordingly. Bodhisattvas are also not truly seen accordingly. The teachings of Bodhisattvas are also not truly seen accordingly. Buddhas are also not truly seen accordingly. The teachings of Buddhas are also not truly seen accordingly. Enlightenment is also not truly seen accordingly. Because among all phenomena, they are not truly seen accordingly. Therefore, because all phenomena are not truly seen accordingly, one does not fear, does not tremble, and does not become terrified. Subhuti asked: "Bhagavan, why is it that when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not become timid or afraid of all phenomena?" The Bhagavan replied: "Subhuti, it is because the Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not fixate on mind and the phenomena arising from mind, and does not truly see them accordingly. Subhuti, therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not become timid towards all phenomena."
