like a dream, and knows it to be like an illusion. When he practices the perfection of wisdom, the perfection of generosity, the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, the perfection of wisdom, and emptiness of the interior, and up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things, and the mindfulnesses, and the right abandonments, and the legs of magical power, and the faculties, and the powers, and the limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path, and the noble truths, and meditation, and the immeasurables, and the formless absorptions, and the liberations, and the successive abidings of absorption, and emptiness, and the signless, and the wishless, and the superknowledges, and all the samādhis, and all the doors of dhāraṇī, and the powers of the Thus-Gone One, and the fearlessnesses, and the individual correct knowledges, and great compassion, and the eighteen unmixed qualities of a Buddha, and up to all-knowingness, he knows it to be like a dream. He thoroughly knows it to be like an echo, like an eye disease, like a mirage, like an illusion, and like an emanation. He knows that all those sentient beings also practice in a dream. He knows that they practice in an echo, and an eye disease, and a mirage, and an illusion, and an emanation. Therefore, when a bodhisattva mahāsattva practices the perfection of wisdom, he apprehends the dream-like dharmas as non-things, and having apprehended them in that way, he obtains all-knowingness. When practicing the perfection of wisdom, he apprehends the dharmas that are like an echo, like an eye disease, like a mirage, like an illusion, and like an emanation as non-things, and having apprehended them in that way, he obtains all-knowingness. The perfection of wisdom is also ungraspable. The perfection of meditation, and the perfection of diligence, and the perfection of patience, and the perfection of ethics, and the perfection of generosity are also ungraspable.

The Tara also cannot be grasped, and the perfection of giving also cannot be grasped. Inner emptiness also cannot be grasped. Even between the emptiness of the nature of non-things cannot be grasped. The mindfulness and the right abandonment, the miraculous feet and the faculties, the powers and the limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path also cannot be grasped. The noble truths and the meditations, the immeasurables and the formless absorptions, the liberations and the gradual abiding absorptions, emptiness and signlessness and wishlessness, supernormal knowledges and samadhi, and the doors of dharani also cannot be grasped. The powers and fearlessness of the Thus-Gone One, The individual correct knowledges and great compassion, and the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha also cannot be grasped. Therefore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, without grasping all dharmas, strives for unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment. Why is that? Because all dharmas are ungraspable and without substance. Like a dream, like an echo, like an optical illusion, like a mirage, like an illusion, like an emanation. Since sentient beings do not know, do not see, and do not realize these dharmas, they cannot obtain any ungraspable dharma with an ungraspable dharma, therefore the Bodhisattva Mahasattva correctly enters unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings. From the moment of generating the first mind, they approach and accept, and whatever they give, they give for the benefit of all sentient beings. Whatever precepts they keep, whatever patience they cultivate, whatever diligence they exert, whatever meditation they abide in, whatever wisdom they cultivate, they cultivate for the benefit of all sentient beings, not for their own benefit. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not enter unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment except for the benefit of sentient beings, and when he practices the Perfection of Wisdom, any sentient being who generates the concept of a sentient being in the absence of a sentient being
