Chapter Seventy. Chapter Seventy. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, in seeing reality, there is neither complete affliction nor complete purification; similarly, in seeing reality, there is neither complete affliction nor complete purification, because all dharmas are of the nature of non-substantiality. Blessed One, in non-substantiality, there is neither complete affliction nor complete purification; Blessed One, in self-nature, there is neither complete affliction nor complete purification. If in the self-nature of non-substantiality, there is neither complete affliction nor complete purification, then what is the complete purification that the Blessed One has spoken of?" The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, the equality of all dharmas, that is what I have spoken of as complete purification." He asked: "Blessed One, what is the equality of all dharmas?" The Blessed One said: "Suchness, and non-erroneous suchness, and non-other suchness, and dharma-nature, and the nature of the dharma-realm, and the abiding nature of dharma, and the faultless nature of dharma, and the ultimate reality, whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, the abiding nature and realm of dharma thus, like this, the dharma-realm is known as the complete purification of Subhuti, which is spoken of by worldly terms, but it is unspeakable and unutterable, it is a dharma that transcends the path of all sounds and words." He asked: "Blessed One, if all dharmas are like dreams, like reflections, like mirages, like hair-nets, like illusions, like apparitions, then how can a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva make all dharmas like dreams, like reflections, like mirages, like hair-nets, like illusions, all dharmas like apparitions, for dharmas that are non-substantial and without essence, how shall I perfect the perfection of generosity? And the perfection of morality, and the perfection of patience, and the perfection of diligence."

Having completely understood with the mind the mental discriminations of the sentient beings of the ten directions of the world, one should perfect the Brahma voice that teaches the Dharma with a single sound according to their inclinations. Thus, one generates the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Are those dharmas that you have spoken of not like a dream, like a reflection, like a mirage, like a heat haze, like an illusion, like a transformation? He replied: Blessed One, if those dharmas are like a dream, like a reflection, like a mirage, like a heat haze, like an illusion, like a transformation,
