Cease! Cultivate patience! Become one who is disciplined, peaceful in mind, and willing to accept! Whatever harms, whatever is used to harm, and whatever dharma is harmed, all of those are empty of inherent existence. Son of noble family, who is the harmer? To whom is harm done? With what is harm done? Consider, all those dharmas are empty of inherent existence. That emptiness of inherent existence never becomes non-empty. That is not done by the Tathāgatas, nor by the Bodhisattvas, nor by the Pratyekabuddhas, nor by the Śrāvakas. It is not done by the gods, nāgas, yakṣas, gandharvas, asuras, garuḍas, kinnaras, and mahoragas. It is not done by the gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings. It is not done by the Thirty-three, the Yāma, the Tuṣita, the Nirmāṇarati, the Paranirmitavaśavartin, the Brahmā, the Ābhāsvara, the Śubhakṛtsna, the Anantākāśāyatana, the Anantavijñānāyatana, the Ākiṃcanyāyatana, and the Naivasaṃjñānāsaṃjñāyatana gods. That is always empty of inherent existence. Emptiness of inherent existence does not harm anyone. Thus, Subhūti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with skillful means, he connects beings with emptiness of inherent existence, cause and effect, places them in emptiness of inherent existence, and gradually reveals, encourages, praises, rejoices, exhorts, disciplines, and establishes them in unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. However, that is not the ultimate truth of worldly conventions. Why is that? Because in emptiness of inherent existence, there is nothing to be obtained, nothing by which to obtain, and nothing to be obtained. Subhūti, this is the true limit of emptiness. Abiding in that, the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva, for the benefit of beings, practices the Perfection of Wisdom, and has no attachment to beings.

There is no object of focus in establishing existence. Why is that? It is because all phenomena are devoid of sentient beings. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they see lazy beings with little diligence, they should encourage them in the diligence of body and mind, saying: "Sons of good family, in the emptiness of inherent existence, there is no phenomenon that shrinks back or becomes lazy, nor is there any phenomenon that shrinks back or becomes lazy, because all those phenomena do not go beyond the emptiness of inherent existence. Therefore, generate diligence with body and mind, abandon laziness, and strive for virtuous dharmas, whether it be generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom, inner emptiness, or up to the emptiness of the essence of non-things, or the mindfulnesses, or the perfect abandonments, or the legs of magical power, or the faculties, or the powers, or the limbs of enlightenment, or the eightfold noble path, or the noble truths, or the meditations, or the immeasurables, or the formless absorptions, or the liberations, or the successive abidings in absorption, or emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, or the superknowledges, or the samadhis, or the gateways of dharani, or the powers of the Tathagata, or the fearlessnesses, or the separate perfect knowledges, or great love, or great compassion, or the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha. Sons of good family, realize all those dharmas without obstruction through emptiness. There is nothing that shrinks back in unobstructed dharmas." Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with skillful means, they truly show sentient beings the emptiness of inherent existence, truly encourage them, truly praise them, truly make them happy, tame them, subdue them, and establish them well. In any case, they establish them well in such a way that they do not abide in duality. Why is that? The emptiness of inherent existence is dual.
