The ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four individual perfect knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, are truly declared. They are truly encouraged. They are truly praised. They are truly rejoiced. They are tamed. They are subdued. They are well established. Those who strive for the fruit of stream-entry are established in the fruit of stream-entry by those undefiled dharmas, which are formless, invisible, and unobstructed. Those who strive for the fruit of once-returning are established in the fruit of once-returning. Those who strive for the fruit of non-returning are established in the fruit of non-returning. Those who strive for the state of an Arhat are established in the state of an Arhat. Those who strive for self-awakening are established in self-awakening. For those who strive for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete awakening, the path to awakening is explained and shown. They are truly encouraged. They are truly praised. They are truly rejoiced. They are tamed. They are subdued. They are well established. Subhuti, thus, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he should contemplate all dharmas as being like a dream, like a reflection, like a mirage, like an illusion, like a plantain trunk, like a transformation, without substance, the nature of non-substance, and empty of their own characteristics. When this was said, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices this profound Perfection of Wisdom, how should he contemplate all dharmas as the nature of non-substance, all dharmas as emptiness that transcends limits, and emptiness that is without beginning or end? Which are virtuous dharmas? Which are non-virtuous dharmas? Which are worldly dharmas? Which are transcendental dharmas? Which are blameworthy dharmas? Which are blameless dharmas?

These are the dharmas with outflows. These are the dharmas without outflows. These are the conditioned dharmas. These are the unconditioned dharmas. These are what become the cause for realizing the fruit of stream-entry. These are what become the cause for realizing the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, and the fruit of arhatship. These are what become the cause for self-awakening. These are what become the cause for unsurpassed, perfect, complete awakening. To make such distinctions is a wonder, a marvelous dharma. After so requesting, the Blessed One spoke thus to the venerable Subhūti: Subhūti, it is so, it is so. Thus, when a bodhisattva-mahāsattva practices this profound Perfection of Wisdom, with regard to all dharmas' nature of non-substantiality, all dharmas' emptiness that transcends limits, emptiness without beginning or end, these are virtuous dharmas. These are non-virtuous dharmas. These are worldly dharmas. These are supramundane dharmas. These are dharmas with faults. These are dharmas without faults. These are dharmas with outflows. Subhūti, even if you understand the wondrous and marvelous dharma of any bodhisattva-mahāsattva, it is not easy for all śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas to further benefit that bodhisattva-mahāsattva, because all of you

Also, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva cannot be overwhelmed by that Dharma. Subhuti asked: World Honored One, what are the rare and wonderful Dharmas that the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva possesses, which are not found in all Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, therefore, listen very well and keep it in mind, and I will tell you. Subhuti, here, when the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices Prajnaparamita, he dwells in the six Paramitas that arise from maturation. He dwells in all emptiness that arises from maturation, as well as the thirty-seven wings of enlightenment, the four noble truths, the four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine sequential abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, supernormal powers, samadhi, the gates of dharani, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great loving-kindness, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared Dharmas of the Buddha. He goes to the realms of the world in all directions and intermediate directions, and for those sentient beings who should be benefited by giving, he benefits them with giving. For those sentient beings who should be benefited by morality, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, he benefits them with wisdom. For those sentient beings who should be benefited by the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, and the fourth dhyana, he benefits them with the fourth dhyana. For those sentient beings who should be benefited by the absorption of the sphere of infinite space, the absorption of the sphere of infinite consciousness, the absorption of the sphere of nothingness, and the absorption of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, he benefits them with the absorption of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. For those sentient beings who should be benefited by loving-kindness, he benefits them with loving-kindness.
