Consciousness, sense bases and realms, as well as dependent origination, all perfections, all emptinesses, all factors of enlightenment, the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samadhis, the gateways of dharani, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and even omniscience, the expression of these dharmas is also unattainable. Why is that? Subhuti, it is because form has no intrinsic nature; whatever has no intrinsic nature is inexpressible. Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness have no intrinsic nature; whatever has no intrinsic nature is inexpressible. Sense bases and realms, and dependent origination have no intrinsic nature; whatever has no intrinsic nature is inexpressible. All perfections, all emptinesses, all factors of enlightenment have no intrinsic nature; whatever has no intrinsic nature is inexpressible.

That is inexpressible. Subhuti, this is the faultlessness of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. That which perfects all the samadhis and attainments in which a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva enters faultlessly, that is, by the power of samadhi and attainment, does not arise. How much less will it arise from desire, hatred, or delusion and abide therein, performing those actions, performing those actions, and falling into the cycle of the five destinies? That is impossible. Otherwise, one abides in phenomena that are like illusions and does the work of all sentient beings, but there is no focus on sentient beings or illusions. Because one does not focus on sentient beings and illusions, one ripens sentient beings and purifies Buddha-fields. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, having perfected the Perfection of Samadhi, until the turning of the Wheel of Dharma, one turns the wheel of non-objectification, the wheel of emptiness, the wheel of signlessness, and the wheel of wishlessness. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, one completely knows all phenomena to be like dreams. One completely knows all phenomena to be like echoes, like mirages, like illusions, like gandharva cities, like apparitions. Question: Blessed One, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, how does one truly and completely know all phenomena to be like dreams? How does one truly and completely know all phenomena to be like echoes, like mirages, like illusions, like gandharva cities, like apparitions? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, one does not see dreams. One does not see the seeing of dreams. One does not hear echoes. One does not see the hearing of echoes. One does not see mirages.

is not seen. Seeing through an eye disease is not seen. Illusion is not seen. Seeing illusion is not seen. Mirage is not seen. Seeing mirage is not seen. Transformation is not seen. Seeing transformation is not seen. Why is that? Like this, the dreams of childish ordinary beings are inverted. Sounds are inverted. Eye diseases are inverted. Illusions are inverted. Mirages are inverted. Transformations are inverted. Arhats do not see dreams. Seeing in dreams is not seen. Sounds are not heard. Hearing sounds is not seen. Eye diseases are not seen. Seeing through eye diseases is not seen. Illusions are not seen. Seeing illusions is not seen. Mirages are not seen. Seeing mirages is not seen. Transformations are not seen. Seeing transformations is not seen. Even solitary realizers, Bodhisattvas, and Tathagata Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas, do not see dreams. Why is that? Like this, because it is not true, all phenomena are of the nature of non-things, equal to complete nirvana. Because it is not true, if all phenomena are not completely established, then when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, how can there be a transformation into the perception of things, or the perception of complete establishment, or the perception of truth? That is nowhere to be found. Why is that? If one observes the nature of some dharma, or complete establishment, or something that has become true, then it will not transform into the Perfection of Wisdom. When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, there is no attachment to form. To feeling, perception, formation,
