Is it permanent or unchanging? The Blessed One said: Realization is neither existent nor nonexistent; it is not in that way that one accomplishes realization by means of the four. The questioner said: Blessed One, what then is the nature of becoming realized? The Blessed One said: That which is neither a thing nor not a thing is realization. Because it is without those elaborations, that which is without elaboration and free from elaboration is realization. The questioner said: Blessed One, what is the elaboration of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva? The Blessed One said: Is form permanent or impermanent? This is the elaboration of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Is feeling, perception, formation, or consciousness permanent or impermanent? This is the elaboration of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Is form pleasure or suffering?
