Therefore, the solitary place indicated by the non-human is without error. You should practice in this very solitary place. By doing so, you will quickly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment.' Having said this, because of that reason, he cherished that solitary place even more, and then returned to the vicinity of the village. To other monks, practitioners of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, those whose minds and thoughts were completely pure, and those endowed with definite virtuous qualities, he disparaged them, saying, 'These fortunate ones practice in a noisy manner.' And to those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who practiced in solitary places, he found fault with them for practicing in a noisy manner, or he found fault with them for practicing mixed with noise, thereby generating a mind of contempt. Those who practiced in a noisy manner, he considered them to be practicing in solitary places, and he made offerings to them. To those who should receive offerings, he generated pride. Why is that? Because, in this way, I am urged by a non-human. I am reminded by a non-human. The practice by which I practice is the unerring practice. Who would urge someone practicing near the village? Who would remind someone practicing near the village?' He generated pride. Therefore, that Bodhisattva reviled other sons of the Bodhisattva Vehicle lineage. Noble son, that person should be known as a base Bodhisattva. He should be known as one who refutes Bodhisattvas. He should be known as an image of a Bodhisattva. He is a thief of the world, including gods, humans, and asuras. He should be known by the world, including gods, humans, and asuras, as a thief in the guise of a renunciate. A person with such characteristics should not be approached, attended, or served by sons or daughters of the Bodhisattva Vehicle lineage. Why is that? Noble son, such a person should be known as having excessive pride. Even the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's omniscience is

Without abandoning, and without abandoning the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with a firm resolve, wishes to attain unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, wishing to benefit all sentient beings, then one should not attend to, rely on, or serve a person with such behavior. One should strive to make oneself meaningful, and should always be weary of samsara, practicing with a fearful mind, unmixed with the three realms. Towards that Chandala Bodhisattva, one should also generate loving-kindness, and out of compassion for him, one should generate compassion. One should generate joy and equanimity. He should generate this thought: "In any way, I must ensure that all these faults of mine are completely absent and do not arise again. And if they do arise, I must quickly abandon them." Subhuti, this should be understood as the power of the direct realization that Bodhisattva Mahasattvas have realized themselves. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with heightened aspiration, wishing to awaken to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, should attend to virtuous friends, should rely on them, and should serve them. The question was asked: "Bhagavan, who are those to be recognized as virtuous friends of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva?" The Bhagavan replied: "Subhuti, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, should be recognized as virtuous friends of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are to be recognized as virtuous friends of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Subhuti, those Shravakas who speak, teach, explain, and interpret the six perfections, and who discriminate, clarify, and correctly indicate them, are also to be recognized as virtuous friends of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Furthermore, Subhuti, the six perfections are the virtuous friends of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas.
