Even up to the very nature of emptiness, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the noble truths, the dhyanas, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine sequential abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samadhis, the gateways of dharani, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four individual perfect knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha will not be fully perfected. The Twenty-five Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom, Chapter Thirty-seven. The six perfections will not be fully perfected, nor will inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, the very nature of the non-entity of things up to emptiness, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the noble truths, the dhyanas, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine sequential abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samadhis, the gateways of dharani, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four individual perfect knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha be fully perfected. This will not purify the Buddha-field, nor will it fully ripen sentient beings. Whoever has not purified the Buddha-field and has not fully ripened sentient beings will not fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Why is that? Because such dedication is tainted with poison. Furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they should examine it in this way: How should those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, dedicate these roots of virtue by this Dharma-nature? Likewise,

Having thus understood that dedicating becomes the most excellent of dedications, I also should dedicate to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment by that Dharma-nature, and should thus thoroughly examine it. Then the Blessed One addressed the venerable Subhuti, saying: "Subhuti, well done! Well done! Subhuti, in this way you explain to the bodhisattva-mahasattvas the aggregates of dedication, in the manner of being without characteristics, in the manner of being without focus, in the manner of being without arising, in the manner of being without cessation, in the manner of being without all defilements, in the manner of being without purification, in the manner of being the nature of being without entities, in the manner of the emptiness of self-nature, in the manner of the emptiness of nature, in the manner of the realm of Dharma, in the manner of Suchness, in the manner of the Suchness that is not other. Subhuti, you are doing the work of explaining. Subhuti, what do you think? If all the sentient beings in this threefold thousandfold great world system were to attain the path of the ten virtuous actions, attain the four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, and the five superknowledges, would those sentient beings increase much by the cause of that merit?" He replied: "Blessed One, much so! Well-Gone One, much so!" The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, even more than that, whatever son or daughter of good family dedicates the roots of virtue without attachment, the merit dedicated by dedication increases exceedingly. Subhuti, thus, the dedication of the roots of virtue of that son or daughter of good family is called excellent, is called chief, is called sacred, is called outstanding, is called supreme, is called abundant, is called unsurpassed, is called unequaled. Subhuti, furthermore, in this threefold thousandfold great world system, as many sentient beings as there are, all of them become stream-enterers, once-returners, non-returners, and arhats. If a son or daughter of good family...
