Subhuti, any Bodhisattva who hears this mudra of entering the letter A, etc., and these words of the mudra of entering the letter A, etc., and after hearing them, holds, recites, reads, and fully understands them, and also shows them to others with proper mindfulness, know that he will have twenty benefits. What are the twenty? Like this: he will be endowed with mindfulness, endowed with wisdom, endowed with understanding, endowed with intelligence, endowed with joy, endowed with shame, and will become endowed with confidence, and will also obtain this gate of Dharani without difficulty, and will become without doubt, and even if he hears pleasant words from others, he will not be attached, and even if he hears words of reproach, he will not be angry, neither high nor low, he will abide in accordance with the Dharma, and will become skilled in sounds, will become skilled in aggregates, will become skilled in elements, will become skilled in sources, will become skilled in truths, will become skilled in dependent origination, skilled in cause and skilled in condition, will become skilled in Dharma-nature, will become skilled in knowing the superior and inferior faculties, will become skilled in knowing death and birth, will become skilled in divine ear knowledge, will become skilled in knowing the minds of others, will become skilled in knowing the recollection of past lives, will become skilled in knowing the forms of miracles, will become skilled in knowing the exhaustion of defilements, will become skilled in knowing the teaching of what is and is not, will become skilled in going and returning, will become skilled in conduct, and will also obtain skill in having shame and knowing shame, Subhuti.
