Even if practicing, they do not discriminate against discriminations that possess Dharma. Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice by observing the body within the body? Subhuti, in this regard, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva walks, they fully understand that they are walking. When standing, they fully understand that they are standing. When sitting, they fully understand that they are sitting. When sleeping, they fully understand that they are sleeping. Whether their body experiences comfort or discomfort, whatever state the body is in, they fully understand it as it is. Subhuti, in this way, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, without fixating on the inner body, observes the body, and being diligent, possessing mindfulness, and possessing memory, they abandon worldly attachments and displeasure and practice. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, without fixating on the inner body, observes the body and practices. Whether walking or coming, they practice with mindfulness. Whether looking or observing in detail, they practice with mindfulness. Whether contracting or stretching, they practice with mindfulness. Even when carrying a begging bowl and robes, they practice with mindfulness. When eating, chewing, drinking, and tasting, they also practice with mindfulness. Sleeping and dispelling drowsiness are also practiced with mindfulness. Walking, coming, standing, sitting, falling asleep and not falling asleep, speaking and not speaking, and even when focusing inwardly, they practice with mindfulness. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, without fixating on the inner body, they observe the body, and being diligent, possessing mindfulness, and possessing memory, they abandon worldly attachments and displeasure and practice. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, when mindful and the breath goes inward, they fully understand that they are mindful and the breath goes inward.

When my breath goes out, I know well that it is mindfulness of the breath going out. When the breath moves inward for a long time, I know well that it is the breath moving inward for a long time. When the breath moves outward for a long time, I know well that it is the breath moving outward for a long time. When the breath moves inward briefly, I know well that it is the breath moving inward briefly. When the breath moves outward briefly, I know well that it is the breath moving outward briefly. Subhuti, for example, when a potter spins a wheel, or a skilled apprentice of a potter spinning a wheel, when it spins for a long time, he knows well that it is spinning for a long time. When it spins briefly, he knows well that it is spinning briefly. Subhuti, similarly, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, when he remembers the breath moving inward, he knows well that he remembers the breath moving inward. When he remembers the breath moving outward, he knows well that he remembers the breath moving outward. When the breath moves inward for a long time, he knows well that the breath moves inward for a long time. When the breath moves outward for a long time, he knows well that the breath moves outward for a long time. When the breath moves inward briefly, he knows well that the breath moves inward briefly. When the breath moves outward briefly, he knows well that the breath moves outward briefly. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he contemplates the body by not fixating on the inner body, and with diligence, possessing correct knowledge, and possessing mindfulness, he eliminates worldly attachment and displeasure and acts accordingly. Subhuti, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, this body has the earth element, the water element, the fire element, and the wind element. He thoroughly understands the nature of the elements as they truly are. Subhuti, for example, a cowherd, or a skilled apprentice of a cowherd.
