Without wishes, without prayers, having understood the various samadhis and the doors of dharanis, do not become arrogant because of them. Having understood the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, do not become arrogant because of them. When the son of Sharadvati, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, thus engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, he should not become arrogant even because of the mind of enlightenment. He should not become arrogant with a mind of inequality or equality. He should not become arrogant with a great mind. Why is that? Because this mind is not mind, because the nature of mind is luminosity. He said: Venerable Subhuti, what is the luminosity of the nature of mind? Subhuti said: Venerable son of Sharadvati, the mind that is neither associated nor dissociated with desire, nor with hatred, nor with delusion, nor with arising, nor with obscuration, nor with cutting off, nor with latent tendencies, nor with binding, nor with aspects of views, nor with the minds of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, this, Venerable son of Sharadvati, is the luminosity of the nature of the mind of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. He said: Venerable Subhuti, does that which is called 'mind that is not mind' exist? Subhuti said: Venerable son of Sharadvati, would there be an apprehension of existence or non-existence in that which is thus 'mind that is not mind'? He said: Venerable Subhuti, it is not like that. Subhuti said: Venerable son of Sharadvati, if there is no apprehension of existence or non-existence in that which is thus 'mind that is not mind', then, Venerable son of Sharadvati, is it reasonable that you ask back, 'Does that which is called 'mind that is not mind' exist?' He said: Venerable Subhuti, what is 'not mind'? Subhuti said: Venerable son of Sharadvati, 'not mind' is that which is unchanging and without conceptualization; that is the suchness of all phenomena; there is no mind there.

It is called Inconceivable. It said: Venerable Subhuti, just as the mind is without change and without conceptualization, is form also without change and without conceptualization? Likewise, are feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness also without change and without conceptualization? Just as the mind is without change and without conceptualization, is the eye element also without change and without conceptualization? Are the form element and the eye consciousness element also without change and without conceptualization? Are the ear element, the sound element, the ear consciousness element, the nose element, the smell element, the nose consciousness element, the tongue element, the taste element, the tongue consciousness element, the body element, the touch element, the body consciousness element, the mind element, the dharma element, and the mind consciousness element also without change and without conceptualization? Are the sense bases, the aggregates, the elements, dependent origination, the perfections, all emptiness, the four mindfulnesses, the four right abandonments, the four miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, the branches of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine sequential abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samadhis, and the gateways of dharani also without change and without conceptualization? Are great love, great compassion, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha also without change and without conceptualization? Is it also without change and without conceptualization up to omniscience? Subhuti said: Venerable Sariputra, son of Sharadvati, it is so, just as
