生于地处之天，或生于识无边处之天，或生于少分无有处之天，或生于非有想非无想处之天，像那样有吗？禀白。世尊，除了因芦苇丛生而颠倒想，以及眼睛错谬所见之外，江河、城市、园林极少，以何等手段而显现聚集呢？众生会堕入地狱，或堕入旁生之生处，或堕入阎罗王的世界，或生为人，或生为四大天王之眷属天，或生为三十三天，或生为焰摩天，或生为兜率天，或生为乐变化天，或生为他化自在天，或生为梵众天，或生为梵辅天，或生为大梵天，或生为光天，或生为少光天，或生为无量光天，或生为遍净天，或生为善天，或生为少善天，或生为无量善天，或生为广善天，或生为大天，或生为少分天，或生为无量天，或生为果实天，或生为无烦天，或生为无热天，或生为善现天，或生为善见天，或生为色究竟天，或生于乃嘛虚空无边处之天，或生于识无边处之天，或生于少分无有处之天，或生于非有想非无想处之天，更不用说会变成那样了，没有啊。世尊说：饶益，你认为如何？对于颠倒想，修习何种道，既不会完全烦恼，也不会完全清净，像那样修习道有吗？禀白。世尊，不是那样，世尊，颠倒想本身也是没有实物的，修习何种道，才能完全……

Is there such a thing as being born as a god in the realm of earth, or being born as a god in the realm of limitless consciousness, or being born as a god in the realm of nothingness, or being born as a god in the realm of neither perception nor non-perception? I beseech you. Blessed One, apart from the inverted perception due to the growth of reeds and the erroneous vision of the eyes, if there are very few rivers, cities, and gardens, by what means do they appear and gather? Will sentient beings go to hell, or to the realm of animals, or to the world of Yama, or be born as humans, or be born as gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings, or be born as gods of the Thirty-Three, or be born as Yama gods, or be born as Tushita gods, or be born as gods of Enjoying Emanations, or be born as gods of Controlling Others' Emanations, or be born as gods of the Brahma host, or be born as gods of the Brahma attendants, or be born as gods of the Great Brahma, or be born as gods of Light, or be born as gods of Limited Light, or be born as gods of Immeasurable Light, or be born as gods of Universal Purity, or be born as gods of Virtue, or be born as gods of Limited Virtue, or be born as gods of Immeasurable Virtue, or be born as gods of Increasing Virtue, or be born as gods of Greatness, or be born as gods of Limited Greatness, or be born as gods of Immeasurable Greatness, or be born as gods of Fruition, or be born as gods of No Affliction, or be born as gods of No Heat, or be born as gods of Good Manifestation, or be born as gods of Good Vision, or be born as gods of the Highest Form, or be born in the realm of limitless space, or be born in the realm of limitless consciousness, or be born in the realm of nothingness, or be born in the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, let alone becoming like that, there is not. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? By cultivating what path for inverted perception, will it neither be completely afflicted nor completely purified, is there such a path to cultivate? I beseech you. Blessed One, it is not so, Blessed One, inverted perception itself is also without substance, by cultivating what path, can it be completely...

There is no need to mention meditating on the path that does not change into afflictions and does not change into complete purification, it does not exist. A magician conjures up various illusions, such as a group of elephants, or a group of horses' bodies, or a group of cows' bodies, or a group of young boys, or the form of a woman, or the form of a man, and then, for that illusion, what action manifests, so that sentient beings go to hell, or go to the realm of animals, or go to the world of Yama, or are reborn as humans, or are reborn as gods of the Four Great Kings, or are reborn as gods of the Thirty-three, or are reborn as Yama gods, or are reborn as Tushita gods, or are reborn as Nirmanarati gods, or are reborn as Paranirmitavasavartin gods, or are reborn as Brahma gods, or are reborn as Brahma-purohita gods, or are reborn as Maha-brahma gods, or are reborn as Abhasvara gods, or are reborn as Parittabha gods, or are reborn as Apramanabha gods, or are reborn as Subhakrtsna gods, or are reborn as Vrihatphala gods, or are reborn as Asanjnasattva gods, or are reborn as Atapa gods, or are reborn as Sudarshana gods, or are reborn as Sudrisha gods, or are reborn as Akanishtha gods, or are reborn as gods of the sphere of infinite space, or are reborn as gods of the sphere of infinite consciousness, or are reborn as gods of the sphere of nothingness, or are reborn as gods of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, does such a thing exist?" What action manifests, and what action manifests, so that sentient beings go to hell, or go to the realm of animals, or go to the world of Yama, or are reborn as humans, or are reborn as gods of the Four Great Kings, or are reborn as gods of the Thirty-three, or are reborn as Yama gods, or are reborn as Tushita gods?"
