This place becomes a god of abundant splendor. This action becomes a god of Akanishtha. This action becomes a god of infinite space. This action becomes a god of infinite consciousness. This action becomes a god of nothingness. This action becomes a god of neither perception nor non-perception. This action becomes the fruit of stream-entry. This action becomes the fruit of once-returning. This action becomes the fruit of non-returning. This action becomes an Arhat. This action becomes a Pratyekabuddha. This action becomes a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This action becomes a Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha. How can such actions be distinguished or differentiated? O Blessed One, for non-existent things, there is no action whatsoever. What action causes sentient beings to go to hell, or to the realm of animals, or to the world of Yama, or to be born as humans, or to be born as gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings, or to be born as gods of the Thirty-three, or to be born as gods of Yama, or to be born as gods of Tushita, or to be born as gods of Nirmāṇarati, or to be born as gods of Paranirmita-vasavartin, or to be born as gods of the Brahma retinue, or to be born as gods of Brahma-pāriṣadya, or to be born as gods of Brahma-purohita, or to be born as gods of Maha-brahma, or to be born as gods of Ābhāsvara, or to be born as gods of Parīttābha, or to be born as gods of Apramāṇābha, or to be born as gods of Ābhāsa-svarā, or to be born as gods of Śubhakṛtsna, or to be born as gods of Parītta-śubha, or to be born as gods of Apramāṇa-śubha, or to be born as gods of Śubha-kṛtsna, or to be born as gods of Bṛhatphala, or to be born as gods of Parītta-bṛha, or to be born as gods of Apramāṇa-bṛha, or to be born as gods of Bṛhat-phala, or to be born as gods of Avṛha, or to be born as gods of Atapa, or to be born as gods of Sudṛśa, or to be born as gods of abundant splendor, or to be born as gods of Akanishtha, or to be born as gods of infinite space, or to be born as gods of infinite consciousness, or to be born as gods of nothingness, or to be born as neither perception

或者投生于非有想非无想处天，或者获得入流果，或者获得一来果，或者获得不来果，或者获得阿罗汉果，或者获得独觉菩提，或者行持菩萨摩诃萨的 道，或者获得一切种智，或者获得之后令众生从轮回中完全解脱，像这样的事都没有。这样禀告之后，世尊对具寿善现这样说道：善现，正是这样，正是这样，正如你所说的那样。善现，对于无事物来说，既没有业，也没有行为，也没有果报。然而，凡夫俗子，不善于圣法的人们，不了解诸法无事物的自性，由于从颠倒产生的心的作用，而明显地造作各种业。因此，他们的身体以同样的方式明显地成就，众生因此在地狱，或者畜生道，或者阎罗王的世界，或者人，或者四大天王众的天，或者三十三天，或者焰摩天，或者兜率天，或者化乐天，或者他化自在天，或者梵众天，或者梵辅天，或者大梵天，或者梵天，或者光天，或者少光天，或者无量光天，或者极光净天，或者善天，或者少善天，或者无量善天，或者遍净天，或者大天，或者少广天，或者无量广天，或者广果天，或者无 想天，或者无热天，或者善现天，或者极善现天，或者色究竟天，或者乃至无所有处天，或者识无边处天，或者无少许处天，或者非有想非无想处天之中，身体明显地成就。对于无事物来说，既没有业，也没有行为，也没有果报。因为凡是无事物，那就是无事物。

Or to be born in the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, or to attain the fruit of stream-enterer, or to attain the fruit of once-returner, or to attain the fruit of non-returner, or to attain the state of Arhat, or to attain solitary enlightenment, or to practice the path of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, or to attain the state of omniscience, or having attained it, to completely liberate beings from samsara, there is nothing like that. After thus pleading, the Blessed One spoke thus to the venerable Subhuti: Subhuti, it is just so, it is just so, just as you have said. Subhuti, for non-things there is neither action, nor deed, nor result. However, ordinary childish beings, those who are not skilled in the noble Dharma, do not understand the self-nature of things as non-things. Because of the mind arising from perversion, they manifestly perform various actions. Therefore, their bodies are manifestly accomplished in the same way. Beings are thus in hell, or in the realm of animals, or in the world of Yama, or as humans, or as gods of the four great kings, or as the thirty-three gods, or as Yama gods, or as Tushita gods, or as Nirmanarati gods, or as Paranirmitavasavartin gods, or as Brahma host gods, or as Brahma assistant gods, or as Brahma assembly gods, or as Great Brahma gods, or as gods of light, or as gods of lesser light, or as gods of immeasurable light, or as gods of complete light and purity, or as virtuous gods, or as gods of lesser virtue, or as gods of immeasurable virtue, or as gods of vast purity, or as great gods, or as gods of lesser vastness, or as gods of immeasurable vastness, or as gods of great fruit, or as non- perceptual gods, or as non-afflicted gods, or as clearly visible gods, or as extremely clearly visible gods, or as Akanishtha gods, or even as gods of the realm of infinite space, or as gods of the realm of infinite consciousness, or as gods of the realm of nothingness, or as gods of the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, the body is manifestly accomplished. For non-things there is neither action, nor deed, nor result. Because whatever is a non-thing, that is a non-thing.
