When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he sees all phenomena as empty and teaches the Dharma to beings who are in delusion. He teaches emptiness in such a way that it does not enter into anything. Seeing in this way, he knows that all phenomena are unobstructed, does not disturb any phenomenon, and does not make them dual. He teaches them as they truly are. Subhuti, for example, the emanation of the Tathagata emanates countless emanations. Some cause beings to engage in the Perfection of Giving, some cause them to engage in the Perfection of Morality, some cause them to engage in the Perfection of Patience, some cause them to engage in the Perfection of Diligence, some cause them to engage in the Perfection of Meditation, some cause them to engage in the Perfection of Wisdom, some cause them to engage in the Four Dhyanas, some cause them to engage in the Four Immeasurables, some cause them to engage in the Four Formless Absorptions, some cause them to engage in the Four Mindfulnesses, some cause them to engage in the Four Right Exertions, some cause them to engage in the Four Legs of Miraculous Power, some cause them to engage in the Five Faculties, some cause them to engage in the Five Powers, some cause them to engage in the Seven Limbs of Enlightenment, some cause them to engage in the Eightfold Noble Path, some cause them to engage in the Four Noble Truths, some cause them to engage in the Eight Liberations, some cause them to engage in the Nine Successive Abidings, some cause them to engage in the doors of liberation of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, some cause them to engage in the Five Superknowledges, some cause them to engage in all Samadhis, some cause them to engage in all Dharani doors. Some cause them to engage in the Ten Powers of the Tathagata, some cause them to engage in the Four Fearlessnesses, some cause them to engage in the Four Analytical Understandings, some cause them to engage in Great Love, some cause them to engage in Great Compassion, some cause them to engage in the Eighteen Unshared Dharmas of the Buddha, some cause them to engage in the fruit of Stream-entry, some cause them to engage in the fruit of Once-returner, some cause them to engage in the fruit of Non-returner, some cause them to engage in the state of Arhatship, some cause them to engage in Solitary Enlightenment, some cause them to engage in the Knowledge of the Aspects of the Path, some cause them to engage in the Knowledge of All Aspects.

“Subhuti, what do you think about that? Did that emanation separate and distinguish some dharmas?” He replied, “No, Blessed One.” The Blessed One said, “Subhuti, similarly, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he teaches the Dharma to sentient beings, completely liberating them from their perversions, and properly establishing them in a state of neither bondage nor liberation, just as it is. Why is that? Subhuti, it is because form is neither bound nor liberated, feeling is neither bound nor liberated, perception is neither bound nor liberated, formation is neither bound nor liberated, consciousness is neither bound nor liberated. The eye is neither bound nor liberated, the ear is neither bound nor liberated, the nose is neither bound nor liberated, the tongue is neither bound nor liberated, the body is neither bound nor liberated, the mind is neither bound nor liberated. Form is neither bound nor liberated, sound is neither bound nor liberated, smell is neither bound nor liberated, taste is neither bound nor liberated, touch is neither bound nor liberated, dharmas are neither bound nor liberated. Eye consciousness is neither bound nor liberated, ear consciousness is neither bound nor liberated, nose consciousness is neither bound nor liberated, tongue consciousness is neither bound nor liberated, body consciousness is neither bound nor liberated, mind consciousness is neither bound nor liberated. Eye contact is neither bound nor liberated, ear contact is neither bound nor liberated, nose contact is neither bound nor liberated, tongue contact is neither bound nor liberated, body contact is neither bound nor liberated, mind contact is neither bound nor liberated. Feeling born of eye contact is neither bound nor liberated, feeling born of ear contact is neither bound nor liberated, feeling born of nose contact is neither bound nor liberated, feeling born of tongue contact is neither bound nor liberated, feeling born of body contact is neither bound nor liberated, feeling born of mind contact is neither bound nor liberated. The earth element is neither bound nor liberated, the water element is neither bound nor liberated, the fire element is neither bound nor liberated, the wind element is neither bound nor liberated, the space element is neither bound nor liberated, the consciousness element is neither bound.
