Extremely solitary, how the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha are extremely solitary, how the fruit of stream-enterer is extremely solitary, how the fruit of once-returner is extremely solitary, how the fruit of non-returner is extremely solitary, how the Arhat is extremely solitary, how the Pratyekabuddha enlightenment is extremely solitary, how the knowledge of the aspects of the path is extremely solitary, how the omniscience is extremely solitary, thus, without relying on the Perfection of Wisdom, one also cannot manifestly realize the Unsurpassed Perfect Complete Enlightenment. Because of solitude, solitude cannot be manifestly realized; because one cannot manifestly realize the Unsurpassed Perfect Complete Enlightenment, one cannot manifestly realize it without relying on the Perfection of Wisdom. Asked: World Honored One, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the profound meaning. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, it is so, it is so. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the profound meaning. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus practices in the profound meaning, namely, not manifestly realizing the meaning of the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground, this is difficult practice. As asked, if one does not slightly perform difficult practices, how does the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva perform difficult practices? Why is that? World Honored One, it is said that, like this, even the meaning of what is manifestly realized is not apprehended, and the Perfection of Wisdom by which one manifestly realizes is also not apprehended, and the Dharma that is manifestly realized is also not apprehended. World Honored One, with what does one manifestly realize all Dharmas? How could there be such a meaning of manifestly realizing the Unsurpassed Perfect Complete Enlightenment? With what does one manifestly realize the Perfection of Wisdom? How could there be such a Dharma to be manifestly realized? World Honored One, this is practice without apprehension, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices in that

obtaining the great (wisdom) without darkness for all dharmas. Bhagavan, if it is taught in this way, the mind of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva will not be discouraged, completely not discouraged, not fearful, not alarmed, and will not become afraid. Bhagavan, such a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices in this way is practicing the Prajnaparamita. It is not seen as truly following that he is practicing. The Prajnaparamita is also not seen as truly following. It is also not seen as truly following that he will manifestly and completely awaken to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Bhagavan, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, practicing the Prajnaparamita, should not think, 'I should prolong the state of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and I have become close to the state of omniscience.' Bhagavan, for example, the sky should not think, 'I am far from some, and I am near to some.' Why is that? Bhagavan, because there is no distinction in the sky, it is unmoving, and there is no discrimination. Bhagavan, similarly, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the Prajnaparamita should not think, 'From me, the state of the Hearers or the state of the Solitary Buddhas is far, and the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment is near.' Why is that? Bhagavan, because the Prajnaparamita is without discrimination. Bhagavan, for example, an illusory person should not think, 'From me, illusion is far, the illusionist is near, or the assembled crowd is far or near from me.' Why is that? Bhagavan, because the illusory person is without discrimination. Bhagavan, similarly, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the Prajnaparamita should not think, 'From me, the state of the Hearers or the state of the Solitary Buddhas is far, and the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete
