Not focusing on samadhi, not focusing on the gate of dharani, not focusing on the power of the Tathagata, not focusing on fearlessness, not focusing on individual self-awareness, not focusing on great loving-kindness, not focusing on great compassion, not focusing on the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, not focusing on the fruit of stream-entry, not focusing on the fruit of once-returner, not focusing on the fruit of non-returner, not focusing on Arhatship, not focusing on self-awakening, not focusing on knowledge of the aspects of the path, and not focusing on omniscience. Asked: World Honored One, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Perfection of Wisdom? The World Honored One replied: Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they do not focus on form, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If they do not focus on form as being permanent or impermanent, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If they do not focus on form as being pleasure or pain, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If they do not focus on form as being self or non-self, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If they do not focus on form as being pure or impure, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Because there is no such thing as form that is permanent or impermanent, pleasure or pain, self or non-self, pure or impure. If they do not focus on feeling, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If they do not focus on feeling as being permanent or impermanent, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If they do not focus on feeling as being pleasure or pain, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If they do not focus on feeling as being self or non-self, they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom.
