uttering sounds of praise. Singing hymns. At that time, those beings born in the realm of animals and the world of Yama, upon hearing the sound of the Buddha, would obtain joy and happiness. Through that joy and happiness, they would be completely liberated from the realm of animals and the world of Yama. Having been completely liberated from the realm of animals and the world of Yama, they would be born in whichever Buddha-field, in those places where the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, reside and teach. Thus, in the world-realms of the upper direction, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, all the suffering of the beings born in the realm of animals and the world of Yama would be pacified. They would utter sounds of praise, singing hymns: "I prostrate to the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened Buddha." At that time, those beings born in the realm of animals and the world of Yama, upon hearing the sound of the Buddha, would obtain joy and happiness. Through that joy and happiness, they would be completely liberated from the realm of animals and the world of Yama. Having been completely liberated from the realm of animals and the world of Yama, they would be born in whichever Buddha-field, in those places where the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, reside and teach. Subhuti, it is like this: for example, a magician or a skilled apprentice of a magician, sitting at a crossroads on a great road, in front of a large gathering of people, would manifestly conjure up the hells, the realm of animals, and the world of Yama. Having thus manifestly conjured them up, he would proclaim the sound of the Buddha to those beings in the lower realms, proclaim the sound of the Dharma, proclaim the sound of the Sangha. Then, those conjurations, through the sound of the Buddha, the sound of the Dharma, and the sound of the Sangha, would be completely liberated from the hells, the realm of animals, and the world of Yama. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, likewise, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, even if they completely liberate countless immeasurable sentient beings from the three lower realms in the ten directions, no sentient being is ever completely liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, if one adheres to the nature of illusion, then the nature of all dharmas is such. Subhuti, therefore, it is said that a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva has donned great armor. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, having donned great armor, abides in the perfection of generosity and manifests the three-thousand great-thousand world system as being made of lapis lazuli. Having thus manifested it as being made of lapis lazuli, they manifest the sovereignty of a wheel-turning monarch.
