This is unwholesome. What is undeclared? Whatever transgresses without considering the precepts established by the Buddha, that is undeclared. Is the fault related to the desire realm? Is it related to the form realm? Is it related to the formless realm? It is said that the fault is related to the desire realm. Is the fault related to the learner? Is it related to the non-learner? Is it neither related to the learner nor the non-learner? It is said that the fault is neither related to the learner nor the non-learner. Is the fault abandoned by seeing? Is it abandoned by meditation? It is said that it is abandoned by meditation. Is the fault born from the body? Is it born from speech? Is it born from the mind? It is said that there are faults born from the body, faults born from speech, and faults born from the mind. What are those born from the body? Engaging in unchaste conduct, taking what is not given, taking life, intentionally emitting semen, touching with the body, cutting green grass, eating after noon, and drinking alcohol are born from the body. What are those born from speech? Claiming oneself as the Dharma of the mandala master as if one has everything when one has nothing, speaking harsh words to women, speaking of the qualities of one's bodily conduct in front of women, and teaching the Dharma to women in more than five or six sentences are born from speech. What are those born from the mind? For example, if a monk dwells alone in a secluded place, he does not generate the mind for observing the fast, nor does he speak. This is the uncleansed fault born from his mind. However, he would say: The fault born from the mind is not cleansed, but this does not connect with the root of virtue. Regarding the fault arising from an object, if one does not rely on it, there will be a fault, but if one relies on that object, even if one does it, will there be no fault? It is said that there is a fault if one does not rely on an object, but if one relies on it, even if one does it, there will be no fault. What is that? Whatever does not rely on that object will be a fault, that is

For example, if a monk, before taking vows, wears robes as he pleases, enters a village without patching, enters a village without invitation, gathers and eats, and eats repeatedly, it is a fault. What things, when done, do not become faults? For example, if a monk, after taking vows, wears robes as he pleases, enters a village without patching, enters a village without invitation, eats repeatedly, and gathers and eats, there is no fault. Thus, for what things, when done, become faults, doing those same things does not become faults. If an action, when done, becomes a fault, does doing that same action also become a fault? The Buddha said, there are also cases where doing an action that becomes a fault does not become a fault. What action, when done, becomes a fault, but doing that same action does not become a fault? The monks say, "We have not seen a nun" and abandon, no longer create karma, and do not give up observing sins, and abandon, and pray that these occur to the monks. Shaving hair, taking it out beyond the boundary, becomes a fault. What is the case where doing that same action does not become a fault? For example, the monks say, "We have not seen a nun" and abandon, no longer create karma, and do not give up observing sins, and therefore pray that these occur to the monks. Shaving hair, joining palms, showing reverence, taking it out within the boundary, there is no fault. Thus, what action, when done, becomes a fault, doing that same action does not become a fault. Searching for that action also becomes a fault. Is there a case where searching for that same action does not become a fault? The Buddha said, knowing that action becomes a fault, and knowing that same action does not become a fault. How does one search for what action becomes a fault, and searching for that same action does not become a fault? For example, the monks say, "We have not seen a nun" and abandon, no longer create karma, and do not give up observing sins, and pray that these occur to the monks. Shaving hair, joining palms, showing reverence,
