Having great miraculous powers. Like this, having great power, those places that the light could not illuminate, were also at that time illuminated by the vast light. The beings born there, those who could not see even if they grabbed their own hands, also saw each other because of that light, and the knowledgeable ones would think, the other beings are also like being born here. The knowledgeable ones would think, the other beings are also like being born here. When the Bodhisattva Bhagavan was born, the sons of the four great kings were also born at the same time. In Rajagriha, the son of King Great Lotus was born. In Shravasti, the holy one of the heavens was born, in the place of the boundless wheel, the son of King Hundred Armies of Kausambi was born. When the Bodhisattva was born, this great earth became like molten gold. Each king thought: This is the power of my son, this is the power of my son. They each gave their sons names. King Great Lotus said: Knowledgeable ones, when my son was born, he illuminated the world like the sun, therefore give this child the name Essence of Form. King Long Flight of the Heavens said: When my son was born, the valleys became bright and clear, therefore give this child the name Bright King. King Boundless Wheel said: When my son was born, the world was completely illuminated by light, therefore give this child the name Utterly Bright. King Hundred Armies said: When my son was born, the world was illuminated like the rising sun, therefore give this child the name Rising. At that time, on Mount Rikiskinnda, lived a sage named White Man, who was skilled in the destruction and formation of this world. He had a nephew named Narada, who often went to him. The sage always told him stories about destruction and formation. Narada, after hearing the stories of destruction and formation, became weary and renounced the world in his presence. One day, he saw the cave of the White Man illuminated by a vast light. Having seen it, he said in verse: All the suns

Car du! Has it dawned here? Like this, in places with mountains and caves, the rays of light are blazing. A white man said this: The hot light of the sun has become cool, and light enters the body, this must be the light of the able one. The Bodhisattva, great light, was born from the womb without being harmed by demons. This is the Bodhisattva, the light of whose birth is without impurity. All three worlds are spread out like gold. Narada said: Abbot, if that is so, please come and pay homage to the Bodhisattva. He said: Child, now the Bodhisattva is renowned as having great divine power, and is surrounded by those who are renowned as powerful, it is not easy for us to see him. When he enters the palace and is named, and then comes out, we will go then. On the day the Bodhisattva was born, five hundred attendants, five hundred female attendants, five hundred female elephants, and five hundred mares were also born and followed, and five hundred treasures also opened up and appeared. The ministers reported to King Śuddhodana: Please be as pleased as the gods! When the prince was born, so many things were accomplished: five hundred attendants and five hundred female attendants were also born, five hundred female elephants and five hundred mares also followed, and five hundred treasures also opened up and appeared. King Śuddhodana heard this and was very pleased, and said: Wise ones, the birth of the prince has accomplished all my wishes and endeavors, therefore the prince shall be named "Sarvārthasiddha" (all wishes fulfilled). Thus the Bodhisattva was named Sarvārthasiddha. The Bodhisattva was placed in a palanquin of four kinds of jewels, surrounded by thousands of beings, and with great reverence from gods and humans, entered the city of Kapilavastu. When the Bodhisattva entered the city, the arrogant Shakyas were silent, like those who are able to endure. King Śuddhodana said: These arrogant Shakyas, silent and able to endure, when the prince enters the city

After entering, he sat silently like the Able One, so the youth was named Shakya the Able One. This is the second name of the Bodhisattva, namely Shakya the Able One. For the Shakyas, there is a local deity called Shakya Increase. Whether a Shakya boy or girl is born, they are first taken to bow at the feet of the deity Shakya Increase. King Śuddhodana said: Sages, today let this youth bow at the feet of the deity Shakya Increase. The ministers led him to the deity, and the deity Shakya Increase saw the Bodhisattva from afar. Seeing him, he hurriedly got up, quickly walked towards the Bodhisattva, and bowed at his feet. King Śuddhodana said: Sages, the deity Shakya Increase also bows at the feet of the youth, therefore, this one is the god of gods, so the youth's name is called the god of gods. Therefore, the Bodhisattva's third name is called the god of gods. Then, King Śuddhodana showed the Bodhisattva to the Brahmins, fortune-tellers, and astrologers, saying: Sages, if this youth possesses which characteristics, he will become one of two great beings, and there will be no other possibilities. If he remains a householder in the world, he will become a universal monarch ruling over the four continents, a king of Dharma, possessing the seven treasures. His seven treasures are: the wheel treasure, the elephant treasure, the horse treasure, the jewel treasure, the lady treasure, the householder treasure, and the seventh is the minister treasure. If he shaves his hair and beard, puts on robes, and with faith goes forth from home to homelessness, he will be known in the world as the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha. Does he possess the thirty-two marks of a great being? They said: Yes, god, it is so. Which characteristics does this youth possess to become a great being?
