With the intention of finding fault, thinking, "I must find fault with a bhikkhuni," and using that as a pretext, she says to a bhikkhuni, "Venerable one, come here! Go to the houses, and there I will have as much food and drink as you want given to you." After saying this, she does not allow her to be given anything, but afterwards says, "Venerable one, it is not comfortable for me to speak or sit with you. It is comfortable for me to speak or sit alone like this, so go away." If she says this, it is a patayantika. Furthermore, any bhikkhuni who touches fire for herself, or causes it to be touched, commits a patayantika. Furthermore, any bhikkhuni who, for a lawful act of the Sangha, offers a desire to a bhikkhuni, and then becomes angry, agitated, and fierce, displeased, makes it an act of renunciation, and says, "Bhikkhuni, take back the desire! I will not give it to you." If she says this, it is a patayantika. Furthermore, any bhikkhuni who sleeps in the same place with someone who is not fully ordained for more than two nights commits a patayantika. Furthermore, any bhikkhuni who says, "As the Blessed One has said, whatever are obstructive things, even if practiced, will not become obstructive, thus the Dharma taught by the Blessed One is known by the teachers." If she says this, the bhikkhunis should say to that bhikkhuni, "Venerable one, do not say that whatever are obstructive things, as the Blessed One has said, even if practiced, will not become obstructive, thus I know the Dharma taught by the Blessed One! Do not slander the Blessed One! Slandering the Blessed One will not lead to good. The Blessed One would not say such a thing. Venerable one, obstructive things are indeed obstructive." The Blessed One has said in many ways that practicing those things will become obstructive. Venerable one, you should abandon this kind of sinful view! She should be admonished. When the bhikkhunis admonish that bhikkhuni in that way, if she gives up that basis, that is good. If she does not give it up, she should be properly admonished two or three times in order to make her give up that basis.
