Before that Shakya Lion, With ten fingers joined in reverence, The Pratimoksha is recited. For the sake of taming, listen to me. Having heard, the great sage, Should practice as spoken, Even for subtle faults, Guard and act accordingly. Always striving to pursue, The mind-horse difficult to restrain, Having struck with a sharp peg of harmony, This Pratimoksha is the rein. Those great ones who with mere words, Can turn back and not transgress the boundary, Those are good people-horses, They will surely conquer the battlefield of afflictions. Whoever lacks this rein, And never acts as desired, They are disturbed by the battle of afflictions, And wander about in separation. Noble Sangha of nuns, please listen. Today's Sangha's Posadha is the fourteenth or fifteenth day. If the Sangha deems it timely and permissible, May the Sangha grant permission. Today the Sangha performs the Posadha, And the Pratimoksha Sutra will be recited. This is the request. Noble ones, we shall perform the Posadha, I shall recite the Pratimoksha Sutra. Listen well and keep it well in mind, and I shall explain it to you. Whoever among you has transgressions, confess them. If there are no transgressions, remain silent. If you remain silent, I shall know that the noble nuns are all pure. Just as when asked individually the Bhikshunis answer, so too in this assembly of Bhikshunis, it should be proclaimed up to three times. Furthermore, if any Bhikshuni, when proclaimed up to three times in this assembly of Bhikshunis, knowingly has transgressions but does not confess, then she knowingly speaks falsely. Noble ones, the Blessed One has said that knowingly speaking falsely is an obstructive dharma. Therefore, a Bhikshuni who desires to be completely purified of transgressions should confess the transgressions she knows. Confessing, she will abide touching bliss. Not confessing, she will not. Noble ones, I have finished the introduction to reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra. To that, I will ask the noble ones, are you pure in this? Are you pure in this? Thus, I ask two or three times.

O! If the noble ones are completely pure, they accept it as it is by not saying anything like this. Explaining the eight dharmas that lead to defeat. Verse: Not practicing celibacy and stealing, killing, lying, speaking boastfully, the son of Sakya and the incense seller, the lover and the throat-born. Noble ones, these eight dharmas that lead to defeat come from reciting the Pratimoksha Sutra every half month. Furthermore, any bhikshuni who, together with the bhikshunis, is equal in the precepts, has not renounced the precepts, has not destroyed the precepts, engages in impure conduct, and practices the dharma of sexual intercourse, even with beings born in the animal realm, that bhikshuni has also fallen and should not live together. Furthermore, any bhikshuni who lives in other people's villages or monasteries, and takes what is not given, which is counted as stealing, no matter how much is taken without being given, if the king or a great minister seizes her and says to her: Hey, woman, you are a thief! A child! A fool! A robber! Saying this, they may kill, bind, or expel her. If the bhikshuni takes what is not given in that way, that bhikshuni has also fallen and should not live together. Furthermore, any bhikshuni who intentionally ends the life of a person or one who is about to become a person with her own hand, or gives him a weapon, or provides him with a weapon, or causes him to die, or praises death, saying to him: Hey, person, what are you doing with this sinful, impure, and evil life? Hey, person, it is better for you to die than to live! Saying this, with the desire in her heart and the thoughts in her mind, she causes him to die in various ways, or praises death, and he also dies because of that action, that bhikshuni has also fallen and should not live together. Furthermore, any bhikshuni who, without having realized or fully understood, does not possess the supreme human dharma, has not attained the state of excellence and nobility, has not attained special realization, seeing, touching, etc., but claims to know and see what she does not, wishing to be purified from that downfall, at another time, whether asked or not, says this: Noble ones, I do not know
