That elephant said that there is no such thing as not doing work. Sound, you should know that for those who lie knowingly, without shame, without scruples, without regret, I say that those foolish people do not do any evil deeds. Then, the Blessed One spoke two verses at that time: Those who lie with their bodies have lost one dharma and are separated from the next world. For such people, there is no evil that they dare not do. It is better to eat a red-hot iron ball than to be immoral, unable to restrain oneself properly, and yet receive offerings in villages. Sound, what do you think? Why do people hold mirrors? Monks do so to observe their own faces separately. Sound, similarly, you should repeatedly consider the bodily actions you intend to do: Will the bodily actions I intend to do harm myself and others, leading to unwholesomeness, suffering, and the production of painful consequences? Or will the bodily actions benefit myself and others, leading to goodness, happiness, and the production of happy consequences? Sound, when you think separately in this way, if you know that the bodily actions I intend to do will harm myself and others, leading to unwholesomeness, suffering, and the production of painful consequences, Sound, you should abandon that bodily action. Sound, when you think separately in this way, if you know that the bodily actions I intend to do will benefit myself and others, leading to goodness, happiness, and the production of happy consequences, Sound, you should do that bodily action. Sound, what bodily action are you doing? Will the bodily action I am doing harm myself and others, leading to unwholesomeness, suffering, and the production of painful consequences? Or will the bodily action benefit myself and others, leading to goodness, happiness, and the production of happy consequences?

Then, one should repeatedly examine each separately. O Holder of Sound, when you examine in that way separately, if you know that the physical action 1 that I am doing is harmful to myself and others, is unwholesome, is a source of suffering, and is a painful result, O Holder of Sound, you should abandon that physical action. O Holder of Sound, when you examine in that way separately, if you know that the physical action that I am doing is beneficial to myself and others, is wholesome, is a source of happiness, and is a happy result, O Holder of Sound, you should follow that physical action. O Holder of Sound, regarding the physical action that should be done, one should repeatedly examine in this way: Is the physical action that I have done, which has passed, exhausted, ceased, separated, and transformed, harmful to myself and others, unwholesome, a source of suffering, and a painful result? Or, is that physical action beneficial to myself and others, wholesome, a source of happiness, and a happy result? O Holder of Sound, when you examine in that way separately, if you know that the physical action that I have done, which has passed, exhausted, ceased, separated, and transformed, is harmful to myself and others, unwholesome, a source of suffering, and a painful result, O Holder of Sound, you should confess that physical action separately before the teacher, those who practice similarly to Brahma, and the wise ones, and from now on, you should also strive to restrain yourself. O Holder of Sound, when you examine in that way separately, if you know that the physical action that I have done, which has passed, exhausted, ceased, separated, and transformed, that physical action is beneficial to myself and others, wholesome, a source of happiness, and a happy result, O Holder of Sound, you should train in that very joy and supreme joy day and night, and abide much in mindfulness and awareness. O Holder of Sound, regarding the verbal action that you intend to do, one should repeatedly examine in this way: Is the verbal action that I intend to do harmful to myself and others, unwholesome, and a source of suffering?
