He went to Yartshul's residence and said: Yartshul, may you obtain these karshapanas. Fair-faced one, please take them with trust. Yartshul, you trust me very much, but I will do it well. After Yartshul stamped them, he took them and went to Shravasti, then he went to Jeta Grove and asked the monks: Venerable ones, where is the monastery of Venerable Nyiga? They pointed it out to him, saying that this is his monastery. He went there, but did not see Nyiga, so he asked a monk: Venerable one, where is Venerable Nyiga? He said: For daytime activities. That merchant said: The Brahmin Yartshul sent him sixty karshapanas, please leave these, and if he is there, please give them to him. Fair-faced one, have you seen anyone holding a brightly burning lamp on his head? He thought: This must be a ghoul coming. So he went to another monk's residence and said: Venerable one, the Brahmin Yartshul sent Venerable Nyiga sixty karshapanas, please leave these, and if he is there, please give them to him. Fair-faced one, if you do not succeed, you will be in a situation like those who are subjected to national punishment. He thought: These two are in agreement, I should go home and then give him a good answer. So he said: Venerable one, Venerable Nyiga, a householder sent a message saying: My storehouse is in such and such a place, if you need karshapanas, please go there. Having said that, he left. Nyiga also returned to the monastery, and the monks said: Venerable Nyiga, the Blessed One said that the wish of a mind endowed with morality will be fulfilled, because morality is completely pure. You went out for daytime activities today, and today you have obtained sixty karshapanas. Who is the benefactor who gave sixty karshapanas each to the Blessed One's one thousand two hundred and fifty attendants? Venerable Nyiga, it is not for the entire Sangha, but for you.

Alone. Who is that benefactor who gave Near Joy sixty karshapanas (kārṣāpaṇa)? It was sent by the Brahmin Summer Custom (Dbyar tshul). If this is only an external gain, isn't it adulterated? Isn't it mixed? Isn't it deceptive? Who checked? Was it taken without checking? Who took it? I am in an environment full of enemies. Another monk said: Venerable Near Joy, what's the matter? That householder said: My orchard is in a certain direction, if you want karshapanas, please go. Near Joy picked up the monastic robe, took steps and left. That householder saw him coming from afar and thought: This shabby practitioner coming like this must be Venerable Near Joy. So he said to him from afar: Are you not Venerable Near Joy? I am. These sixty karshapanas that the Brahmin Summer Custom sent to you, please accept. Ah, friend, may this donation become the ornament of your mind, the equipment of your mind, the gathering of yoga, the attainment of the highest meaning, and the enjoyment of gods and humans. Venerable, why do you declare merit in my name? Please declare merit in the name of Brahmin Summer Custom. What is the use of this miser? Like this you have also done a lot, because you brought it. Who can help me find a child who can take these to the street? Venerable, I have no child. Miser, having brought it from Rajagriha (རྒྱལ་པོའ་ཁབ། , Rājagṛha) so far, can't you deliver it to the street? He said to the child: Take the karshapanas, follow the venerable, and don't go away. Don't let him give you the price of food as alms. That child took the karshapanas, followed him to the street, first went to the place selling spices, and he said: Venerable, please put these karshapanas here. Near Joy said: Child, you have learned very well. Then he said to a child selling spices: Good child, put these karshapanas down for a while. Venerable, I depend on the guru. When will you...

Do not depend on me! He went to another spice merchant's son and said, "Please keep these fine kārṣāpaṇas for a while. Holy one, my lama will come later." May it never be exhausted! He went to a spice merchant's son who had new faith and said, "Please keep these fine kārṣāpaṇas for a while. Holy one, I depend on my mother." He said, "I know you have faith, but I don't know how you believe a liar. If you gain faith, you will also take the woods and expel the monks." He pleaded, "Holy one, please go elsewhere!" Nyeda left those kārṣāpaṇas there, and then that householder's son left. The merchants also made a law that whoever among us comes when the sun rises, we will make him pay sixty kārṣāpaṇas. The spice merchant's son said to him, "Son, by all means, you must find a way not to make me pay sixty kārṣāpaṇas." Nyeda felt regret at night because that spice merchant's son had new faith, and he thought, "Surely there will be some situation where those kārṣāpaṇas will be denied." So he got up early the next morning, took a boy, and went to the market. The spice merchant's son saw him opening the market and said, "Give me those fine kārṣāpaṇas! Holy one, the merchants have made a law that whoever among us comes when the sun rises must pay sixty kārṣāpaṇas, so we have gone to the merchants, please wait a moment until we return." "Who will starve you? Who will sit there with swollen buttocks? If you don't give it, King Sargya from Gongkala will punish you with the crime of making you pay sixty kārṣāpaṇas." The spice merchant's son got angry and threw the bundle of kārṣāpaṇas, and then weighed it. Nyeda said, "Don't weigh it? Don't check it? Don't weigh it and see? Didn't I check and give it to you? If
