Suffering is happiness. Father, please allow me to go to the forest of asceticism. The king said: Son, you should sleep without fear on a soft bed, spread with incense and powder, scattered with various flowers, and arranged with a comfortable residence. Wake up with the sound of pleasant musical instruments, wear soft clothes, eat delicious food, and drink delicious drinks. If, like being ordained in a temple, you always sleep under a tree on a bed of grass or leaves, with a heart full of fear, sleep with fierce wild animals, wake up to the sound of wolves, wear bark and animal skins, eat roots and fruits, and drink muddy warm water. Why do you abandon the throne and become a monk? Then, the mute youth then spoke this verse: In the forest, wearing bark and grass, eating roots and fruits, living together with fierce wild animals is the best. Because of fear of the afterlife, it is not right for the wise to do killing, imprisonment, and beating for the sake of the throne. Father, please allow me to go to the forest of asceticism. The king said: Son, first dispel these three doubts of mine, and then it will not be difficult for you to become a monk. You saw the wealth and the king of Varanasi (Varanasi), and said, is Varanasi (Varanasi) empty or existing, what did you think? Swear in the name of God! God commanded me not to blame without reason, but no one said why this young man should be killed, because no words in accordance with the Dharma were spoken, so I thought that way. This is the first mistake. You saw four people carrying a corpse and asked if the corpse was a dead body or a living body, what did you think? Swear in the name of God! The corpse that has done wrong is a dead body,

The corpse that has done the work that should be done is a living corpse, therefore I spoke after thinking from there. Child, you are not wrong. When you saw a huge pile of grain, you said this: if this pile of grain had not been eaten from the beginning, it would have become huge. From what did you think and say that? For the sake of the gods, live on! Those divine farmers who cultivate and plant grain, when the grain ripens, they offer the huge pile of grain to the creditors, so they eat it from the very beginning. Similarly, when one obtains a human body through the path of the ten virtuous deeds, if one does not engage in virtuous deeds, etc. after obtaining it, then the previous root of virtue will also be cut off. If the root of virtue is cut off, one will completely decline from the happy realms and rely on the lower realms, therefore I spoke after thinking from there. Then, the king, having heard the child's words, was very pleased and picked up the child, saying these words: Practitioner, please maintain your own Dharma practice. I also promise to be your student. Then, King Brahma-given said to the ministers: Wise ones, what would happen if the mute youth did not renounce? The god would become king. What would your sons become? The gods would become attendants. So, now that he has renounced, why don't your sons renounce? God, we will act according to your command. At that time, not far from the city of Varanasi, there was a dwelling place where a hermit with a loving nature, endowed with compassion, endowed with love, and loving towards sentient beings, resided. The young mute youth, with five hundred attendants and great wealth, renounced before that hermit. That hermit gave instructions to the mute youth, and the mute youth, through effort, diligence, and perseverance, realized the five superknowledges. Then, at another time, that hermit passed away, and the young mute youth piled the hermit's body on a pile of various fragrant woods, burned it, and performed great offerings and reverence. The young mute youth departed.

Then he began to fully teach those five hundred children. His name, which was called "Youthful Dumb," disappeared, and the name "Teacher Dumb, Teacher Dumb" was formed. Then, at another time, Teacher Dumb thought: Why don't these five hundred Brahmin children manifest the five superknowledges? So he thought: These people are holding Yangji (name of a container), tree bark, staffs, pills, spoons, measuring cups, and other leftover things, and they are extremely diligent in combining with leaves, barnyard grass, and the roots of উৎপala. Then Teacher Dumb thought: If I belittle these Brahmin children, it will be difficult to separate them. Bodhisattvas are unparalleled experts in taming. Then Teacher Dumb said to the Brahmin children: Brahmin children, during these three months of the rainy season, in order to settle down well, no one should approach me except for the Brahmin children root, the single fruit power, and the Uposatha (Sanskrit: poṣadha) on the fifteenth day of this itself. The Brahmin children also said that during the summer, no Brahmin child among us will go to see the Khenpo except for the Brahmin children root, the single fruit power, and the Uposatha on the fifteenth day of this itself. During the summer, if any Brahmin child among us goes to see the Khenpo except for the Brahmin children root, the single fruit power, and the Uposatha on the fifteenth day of this itself, we will make him commit a transgression, and this was made a rule. When Teacher Dumb began to enter the three-month rainy season retreat, no Brahmin child would approach him except for the Brahmin children root, the single fruit power, and the Uposatha on the fifteenth day of this itself. Teacher Dumb only saw the deer from afar. After seeing it, he said: Deer, come here! Deer, you have come well! You and I are the same.
