Endowed one, to him we shall take refuge. Thus, all of them unanimously spoke these words: Homage to the noble Ganga. Homage to the noble Ganga. Homage, thus they spoke. Then, the gods who were exceedingly delighted with the venerable Ganga, wherever the venerable Ganga had gone in comfort, went to the venerable Ganga and spoke thus: Noble one, please consider the unbearable and terrifying suffering of the demons. Having thought thus, then, how did his mind remain in equanimity? From the edge of the place where barley grew, he disappeared and, sitting cross-legged on the prow of a great ship in the great ocean, he entered into such a samadhi. Then, the black wind struck Mount Meru and returned as if shattered. The great powerful yaksha thought: In the past, any ship touched by the black wind was thrown and destroyed like a cottonwood fluff. Now, what is the reason that the black wind strikes Mount Meru and returns as if shattered? Thus, as they began to examine each other, after some time, they saw the venerable Ganga sitting cross-legged on the prow of the ship. Having seen him, he said: Noble Ganga, why do you restrain? Ganga said: You, subject to aging, do you restrain me? If I had not attained such a collection of virtues, you would have caused the destruction of my brother's name and body. The great powerful one said: Noble sandalwood supreme land, is guarded for the sake of the wheel-turning king. Ganga said: Lord, what do you think? Which is greater, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, or the wheel-turning king? Noble one, did the Bhagavan appear in the world? He did appear. If so, now let those who are not full eat. Then, those merchants gave their lives, and with great faith in the venerable Ganga, the ship, filled with the supreme sandalwood land, set out and gradually went to the city of Sravasti. Then Ganga said to his brother: By whose name did the great ship come to be accomplished? That is your power.

Distribute these jewels to these merchants. I will build a sandalwood garland pavilion for the Blessed One with these excellent sandalwood grounds. He distributed the jewels to those merchants. Then, Gangpo began to build a pavilion of sandalwood earth, and he summoned the craftsmen and said: Wise men, do you take five hundred karshapanas each day, or do you take three pots of sandalwood earth powder? They said: Holy One, we need three pots of sandalwood earth powder. Before long, the sandalwood garland pavilion was built, and all the cleaning work was completed. Then, the morning and the remaining powder were mixed and applied to it. He made the brothers ask each other for forgiveness, and then said: Invite the Buddha and the Sangha of monks to enjoy the meal. Holy Gangpo, where does the Blessed One live? In Shravasti. How far is the road? It is more than a hundred yojanas to Shravasti. Let's report to the king first. Do it like this. They came to the king and said: Heavenly King, we want to invite the Buddha and the Sangha of monks to enjoy the meal, please allow us, Heavenly King. Yes, do it like that. Then, the venerable Gangpo climbed to the top of the building, facing the direction of Jeta Grove, knelt on both knees, sprinkled flowers, lit incense, and asked a householder to hold a golden auspicious vase and began to pray: Pure discipline, extremely pure wisdom. Meals on time, always insightful. Seeing the helpless, Please have great compassion and come to offer. Then, those flowers, by the power of the Buddhas and the power of the gods, became a flower pavilion, like a prince sick in Jeta Grove. The incense piled up like clouds. The water became like a vaidurya container. The venerable Ananda, because he was proficient in signs, put his palms together and reported to the Blessed One: Venerable, please accept the invitation.

Where do you come from? Venerable, from a city like Sloma. Venerable, how long have you been in a city like Sloma? Venerable, it is over a hundred yojanas. He said to the monks: Whoever among you is happy to go to a city like Sloma tomorrow to eat, take a lot. The venerable one replied: As you say. The venerable Ananda, having heard from the Blessed One, took a lot and sat down in front of the Blessed One. The Blessed One and the elder monks took lots. At that time, the venerable Purna, who lived in the land of springs, liberated by wisdom, gathered in that assembly, also began to take lots. The venerable Ananda again said in verse: Venerable, this food, Is not the palace of King Kosala, Nor the house of Rab Sbyin and the deer park, It is not the food of the house. The city called Sloma, There are more than a hundred yojanas, It is necessary to go by magic, Purna, please do not speak, sit down. He is liberated by wisdom. He did not manifest magical powers, thinking: Why did I seek, abandon, cast away, and separately abandon all the collections of afflictions? Am I lazy about the magical powers common to heretics? Then he dwelt in diligence and manifested magical powers, until the venerable Ananda did not give the third elder a lot, he stretched out his hand like an elephant's trunk and took a lot. Then he said in verse: Gautama, here are the six superknowledges, Not obtained by fame and hearing, Nor by the qualities of lineage and speech, And not even by great wishes, Those who completely distinguish like me, Even if they decline due to old age, they can be peaceful, The power of discipline, insight, and the power of meditation, In many ways, one becomes endowed with six superknowledges. Then the Blessed One said to the monks: Monks, this is the most excellent of my monks, My hearers, when receiving the lots of offerings, are the first to take the lots.
