If someone wants to be ordained by someone, he should be asked, "Have you caused a schism in the Sangha?" If he is ordained without being asked, he will commit a serious offense. The Venerable Ānanda asked the Buddha, the Blessed One: "If a monk, out of malice, caused a Tathāgata to bleed, if he wants to be ordained and receive full ordination in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, to become a monk, should he be allowed to be ordained? Should he not be allowed to be ordained?" Ānanda, he should not be allowed to be ordained. Therefore, if someone wants to be ordained by someone, he should be asked, "Have you, out of malice, caused a Tathāgata to bleed?" If he is ordained without being asked, he will commit a serious offense. The Venerable Ānanda asked the Buddha, the Blessed One: "If a monk, before being ordained, committed any of the four defeats, if he wants to be ordained and receive full ordination in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, to become a monk, should he be allowed to be ordained? Should he not be allowed to be ordained?" Ānanda, he should not be allowed to be ordained. Therefore, if someone wants to be ordained by someone, he should be asked, "Have you committed any of the four defeats?" If he is ordained without being asked, he will commit a serious offense. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying at Jetavana-anāthapiṇḍada-ārāma in Śrāvastī. Then, the Blessed One said to the monks: "Monks, if someone who has been expelled from the community for not seeing a fault comes back and says, 'Venerable ones, I have seen the fault, please allow me to be ordained.' He should be ordained. After being ordained, he confesses the fault, saying, 'Please allow me to receive full ordination.' He should be given full ordination. If, after receiving full ordination, he says, 'I have not seen the fault,' if there is a Sangha, he should be expelled from the community for not seeing the fault. If there is no Sangha, if he has received full ordination, then he has received full ordination well. Like this person

Because in the Vinaya well-spoken by someone, the things of ordination and full ordination of monks are very difficult to obtain. Just as expelling from the dwelling without seeing, so too, expelling from the dwelling without returning, and expelling from the dwelling without abandoning the appearance of the views of the wicked are also the same. Verse: Hand maimed and foot maimed, fingers fully overlapping, without lips, body with scars, excessively old and excessively young, lame, lower body paralyzed, blind, fingers maimed, crooked, dwarf, goiter, mute, deaf, impotent and foot sores, women exhausted by poison burdens, people exhausted by roads, mutes, deaf and pledges, such people, the great sage has forbidden. Those who are beautiful and well ordained, and those who are completely pure, attain near perfection. The perfect Buddha knows very well, and declares with a true name. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, dwells in Jeta Grove in Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti. The conduct of the Six Groups is that whoever has been ordained and received full ordination, if they do not know that these are bad practices, they dwell with them, and when they know, they dwell with those who have the nature of monks, and only observe in the three times because of the teacher's command. Then they began to discuss, 'The joyful ones, the near joyful ones, the black bowl ones, are like those who snatch births, those whom we have tamed are snatched by them, now we must tame those who will not be snatched by the black bowl ones.' Thus they discussed. After some time, Near Joyful wandered around and saw a one-handed man and said, 'Good sir, why don't you become ordained?' He replied, 'Venerable, I am one-handed, who will ordain me?' Near Joyful said, 'Good sir, the teachings of the Blessed One are revealed with great compassion, I will ordain you.' Thus he ordained him.
