Because it is extremely unbearable. Therefore, its result will surely lead to the three lower realms. Suffering cannot be avoided either, it is like experiencing roasting at the same time. Then, the Buddha said that among the good deeds, the giving of life is the most supreme. Therefore, for sentient beings who kill, it is better and more excellent to seek fields and food. Furthermore, the karmic result of killing is very great, so one should abstain from killing. Entering cities and casting torma, one does not give up even for the sake of life. It means that entering the city, in order to gain benefits, one performs fire offerings and casts torma, slaughters cattle and sheep, drinks alcohol, sells rock salt, eats horse meat, etc., and still claims to be proficient. This is selling the Dharma as a commodity. Such a person will be born in the mud of rotting corpses and fire. Also, those who possess the supreme wisdom of the Dharma will benefit sentient beings in the city with torma and so on. The yogi who constantly keeps vows will attain accomplishment. Vows are common and special vows, if these vows are kept, one can obtain supreme accomplishment and common accomplishments, such as elixirs and so on. All vows are vajra, the power of vows can overcome, vows are indestructible and can destroy all evils. Therefore, the wise should always proclaim vows, which are the cause of accomplishment. It means that vows are powerful, and if one has vows, one can destroy afflictions like a diamond. A person who keeps vows can be free from harm, such as the disturbance of dragons, etc., and will not get sick. Ascetic vows, that is, possessing the three vows, is extremely joyful, therefore it is difficult. It can eliminate the obstructing demons, so it will not last long. Therefore, the wise should know the meaning of taking and repenting. The cause of accomplishment is vows, so one must keep them, which is related to the previous text. Those who have no vows and abandon all actions, constantly abandon the practice of accomplishment and generate all suffering. It means that those who have no vows, take the three vows but do not keep them, that is, those who break the vows. Abandoning all actions means that if one breaks the vows, one does not engage in repentance and abandons other Dharma practices. Constantly abandoning the practice of accomplishment means that without the practice of vows, there is no supreme and common accomplishment.
