Go. If marmots cause damage, raising the tip of a mottled stick can stop it. Furthermore, as a means to prevent thieves and robbers from coming when traveling, it is said that if a person born in the year of the Tiger carries a knot tied with long pepper root and draws a circle around the outside of the tent, it will reduce the number of thieves and robbers. If your feet hurt on the plains and you cannot walk, putting a small amount of horsehair in your shoes will help. If you cannot go uphill, it will help to hold a bird feather or an arrow in your hand. If your feet hurt going downhill, it will help to carry a round stone or a clod of earth. If it is very hot, open your mouth, extend your fingers, walk in small steps, and think that the moon is rising on your forehead, it will help. If it is very cold, hold your breath, clench your fists, walk straight, and think that the sun is rising on your forehead, it will help. If your riding horse and milk-drinking livestock die, you must make dedications and good prayers as if your parents had died. If you do not do so, the karmic consequences will ripen, leading to severe illness, hunger, and future difficulties. Great faults will occur. In general, if you do good to all beings, you will accumulate merit and purify obscurations. There is no better immediate ritual than that. Therefore, you must cultivate the compassion of cherishing others more than yourself. Furthermore, I will explain some brief observations on omens. In whatever you do, if you are a monk, it is best not to have to wear the robe again. If you are a layperson, it is best not to have the braid on the back of your head tilted backward. The louder and more melodious the music and conch sounds are, the better. If a knot is tied in your belt in the morning, it is a friendship knot, so you must not untie it for three days. It is said that when putting on shoes, it is better to get the shoelace first. There are countless auspicious obstacles like these. The ink, paper, and pen are used up, and I am tired. False appearances are like ripples on water without a protector. However, these are all the karma of previous lives. Therefore, whatever happiness and suffering are experienced now, everything is the ripening of past karmic results. If you think about the future, do good deeds. Now, this body, even if it is dressed in fine clothes like silk, even if there is delicious food and drink, gentle speech, and skillful eloquence, will quickly and impermanently be in a terrifying cemetery, where the corpse will be eaten by birds and beasts. Therefore, this impermanent, illusory magic trick, it is more pitiful to die in old age without Dharma than to die in childhood.

In this cycle of suffering, it is best if sentient beings Seize the path of liberation without attachment. Like Indra's bow, this body is impermanent, Abandon attachment to hatred, greed, and delusion. The one deity who accomplishes all is Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara, It is said there is no other way than the essence of the six syllables. For all future generations, there is no better heartfelt advice than this, Do not forget to keep it well in your heart. Thus it was spoken in the year of the Water-Female-Wood-Horse (1882), When Tröndrü Gyatso (བརྩོན་འགྲུས་རྒྱ་མཚོ།) generated wonderful experiences, A small fragment of the oral tradition of Tibetan and Chinese scholars, Rāga Asya freely spoke. May ignorance and darkness be pacified by virtue, And may the light of true wisdom increase! Thus it was said. When Tröndrü Gyatso (བརྩོན་འགྲུས་རྒྱ་མཚོ།) asked: Excellent, excellent, precious one! I, the respectful subject and disciple, Tröndrü Gyatso (བརྩོན་འགྲུས་རྒྱ་མཚོ།), Thinking again and again, spit falls into the cycle of existence. I will not speak of the good and bad of this human realm, The words of the elders in my ears. In the ocean of suffering of the six realms of existence, Due to clinging to reality, stubbornness, and strong attachment, Thinking again and again, spit falls into the cycle of existence. Looking at this human realm, Protecting what exists cannot prevent suffering, Searching for old age cannot find difficult tasks. Equality, attachment, and hatred stir the heart like a storm. Seeing this, I lose hope in the cycle of existence. Those who are born age, get sick, and die, Some die uncertainly from a young age. Most waste their lives meaninglessly, And die heavily burdened with sin. The wretched will fall into the realm of hell. Thinking of this, unbearable sorrow arises. Thirty years of life, like a dream, like lightning, Knowingly setting a limit to the end of the eon, When bound by hundreds of thousands of faults, Suddenly taken to the terrifying abode of Yama. Experiencing countless unbearable sufferings, Thinking again and again, sadness arises from the depths of my heart. Entering the door of the profound Vajrayana, Not guarding the vows of transgression, abandoning them like straw. Doubt and hesitate about the sacred Dharma. The monks and students who burn with the three poisons like fire, Run in the field of hell without regret. And again, there are virtuous lamas with small ascetic practices, Drawing the impurities of all the impure world. Instead of meditating on deities, mantras, and samadhi within, Outwardly
