If there is not even one left who escapes death, then start counting the deaths of those you know! On what day did someone die, how many died this year? You yourself have no advantage over them. Even knowing death, and knowing that Dharma is needed at that time, everyone knows, but is deceived by thinking they have no time to contemplate. Nowadays, it is said that life expectancy is around forty, how many people of your age, or even younger than you, have died? Ponder it in your mind, think carefully! They also thought that they would not die yet, subduing enemies, protecting relatives, committing many sins. Before they knew it, they were taken away by the Lord of Death. You are the same as them, so practice the sacred Dharma! Not remembering the Dharma, entering the Dharma, and the way to reach the end after entering the Dharma, is the profound Dharma of remembering death from the depths of your heart. If death does not prick your heart, even if you practice the sacred Dharma, it will only be mistaken for a grand ritual. Therefore, three times a day, pierce death into your heart, remembering is the profound Dharma. This is the third part of the song of contemplating impermanence and cause and effect. Alas! In this section on the actual object of focus, there are things to understand and things to meditate on, each separately. First, understand these things that need to be understood, then, meditate as much as you can on the object of meditation. The suffering of samsara cannot be saved by others, therefore, place your trust in the three jewels that do not deceive. The three jewels of the Sutra tradition are the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, the three jewels of the Mantra tradition are the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini, in reality, the Lama encompasses body, speech, and mind. Whatever you do, you know, trusting is taking refuge. It is not enough to attain Buddhahood yourself, all sentient beings are kind parents. The vast aspiration to place them all in the state of Buddhahood is the teaching of the Buddha. In order to accomplish perfect Buddhahood for oneself, the Buddha and sentient beings are equally kind. Without practicing the six perfections, there is no way to attain perfect Buddhahood. The object of giving is impoverished sentient beings, the object of meditating on compassion is suffering sentient beings, all enemies and obstructors who repay kindness with harm, are the support for practicing patience, friends of enlightenment. Knowing this, without partiality or discrimination, all sentient beings, by oneself alone, will be placed in the state of Buddhahood. Generating this good intention and firm determination is the profound Dharma called the generation of Bodhicitta. Unconfessed sins, even if small, will increase, every day that passes, they will

Increasing with diligence. If you confess from the heart, there is no sin that cannot be purified. Like impurity being washed away by water. Past sins are like accidentally swallowing strong poison. If regret arises, it is easy to purify. It is difficult to purify the arrogance of thinking, "I can endure it." You should make a strong vow not to do it again in the future. If you think, "Even if I do it, I can confess," then you will not be purified by that, the Victorious Ones have said. Meditate on the Guru, the embodiment of all the Jewels, on your crown. Confessing in front of that is called the power of reliance. Although there are many ways to confess, the six syllables are the most profound. Accumulate merit in whatever way you can, striving to do so. Offering a mandala is an easy and great way to accumulate merit. The Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and accomplished beings of the ten directions, although immeasurable, we do not have the karma to meet them. The Guru gives empowerment, explains the tantras, and gives secret instructions. The Guru's kindness is greater than all the Buddhas. Even if the Guru seems ordinary, if you pray with faith as Vajradhara, realization and qualities will arise and increase. It is said to be the compassion of all the Buddhas. Therefore, meditate on the Guru and pray. Having entered the door of Dharma and received empowerment, transmission, and guidance, if you do not keep the vows and commitments, you will be ruined, like medicine turning into poison. Although you do not know the details of how to keep them and it is difficult to keep them, it is sufficient to keep them by summarizing the essential points into one. Whatever you do, you know, the Three Jewels know, all the vows of refuge are included in that. If you never harm others, then all the vows of individual liberation are included in that. Dedicate all merit to all sentient beings, and benefit others as much as you can, then all the Bodhisattva vows are included in that. View the root Guru as inseparable from the Yidam, and if you never have wrong views about that, then all the secret mantra vows are included in that. For those who have vows and commitments in this way, the Guru bestows blessings, the Yidam bestows accomplishments, the Dakinis and Dharma protectors will surely remove obstacles. Having understood this, the object of meditation is: On a lotus and moon cushion on your own crown, meditate on the kind root lineage Guru and the Three Jewels. All combined into Amitabha. Practice refuge and generating bodhicitta, either extensively or briefly, as you know how. Visualize your body, possessions, and all merit, the four continents, Mount Meru, and various jewels, as offerings, and recite the verses of the mandala offering. Past sins, repen
