A Compendium of the Heart Essence of the Practice of the Red Instruction on Great Compassion, the Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. A Compendium of the Heart Essence of the Practice of the Red Instruction on Great Compassion, the Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. Herein lies the Compendium of the Heart Essence of the Practice of the Red Instruction on Great Compassion, the Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. This is the authentic profound Dharma of the Neudo Kagyu. Homage to the Great Compassionate One). Although there are vast and numerous Sutras, Tantras, and Shastras, it is difficult to fathom them due to short life and small intellect. Even if one knows much but does not put it into practice, it is like dying of thirst on the shore of an ocean. Even in the seat of the learned, a common corpse may arise. The words of Sutras, Tantras, Agamas, and the accomplished masters of India and Tibet, although their blessings are great, are difficult for ordinary people to understand. It is necessary to give explanations in monastic colleges, but it is of little use for single-pointed practice. Therefore, an old woman's pointing finger is beneficial to the mind. The immeasurable profound Dharmas such as Mahamudra and Dzogchen, each with its own unerring texts, are necessary for transmitting the Dharma lineage to disciples, but for those who seek their own benefit and future lives, it is profound to practice by uniting everything into one. Maintaining pure Dharma traditions, clean speech, and good conduct is necessary for upholding the tenets of a school, but if one thinks only of the single purpose of future lives, it is profound to cultivate pure vision without bias. Entrusting oneself to one lama, relying on one, is necessary if one wants to become a great son of that lama, but if one wants to generate realization and qualities within oneself, then gather all related lamas into one. It is profound to supplicate after contemplating them as the lord of the family. The individual generation stage recitations and practices of the many deity assemblies of the Yidam Tantras are necessary for great lamas to bestow empowerments, but for purifying obscurations and attaining siddhis, it is profound to have one deity and one mantra that encompasses everything. The many completion stage practices with and without focus, and the many instructions, are necessary for giving explanations, but for generating realization and qualities within oneself, it is profound to cultivate the essence by uniting everything into one. Cutting elaborations from the outside and cutting from the inside, although there are many different ways of teaching the view, just as smoke ceases when the fire in the hearth is extinguished, it is profound to cut off the root of one's own mind within. Although there are many ways to meditate with and without signs, it is profound to have the generation stage of clear light union and the completion of mindfulness. Although there are many high and low, coarse and subtle behaviors,
