Subduing the senses. Thus it is said. Nagarjuna said: Having heard much and being of great wisdom, not seeking wealth and gain, possessing Bodhicitta and great compassion, able to endure hardships and having little fatigue, having many instructions and being liberated from the path, being skilled in lineage and knowing the temperature, one who possesses twelve qualities should be relied upon. Thus it is said. The Vajra Tentra says: The Vajra Acharya possesses five characteristics, and the mantra truly shown by him, gives rise to accomplishment for the practitioner. Possessing stable and profound Dharma, being skilled in all fields of knowledge, knowing fire offerings, mandalas, and mantras, having reached the other shore of excellent offering tormas, fully understanding these ten qualities. Upholding the conduct of the Shravakas, rejoicing in the order of the Mantra Vehicle, rejoicing when seeing a form, being skilled in drawing mandalas and possessing recitation. Completely destroying the root downfalls, giving happiness to the worlds through the excellent union of mantra and tantra, if such a lama is regarded as a true Buddha, no one should slander him. Thus it is said. The Vajra Dakini says: Whoever has anger and desire, whose speech is very harsh, and who is satisfied with his own qualities, should not be relied upon as a lama. Thus it is said. Atisha's Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment says: Being skilled in the rules of discipline, and the lama abiding in discipline, being able to bestow discipline and possessing compassion, one should know that this is a good lama. Thus it is said. The Four Seats says: Having a subdued and peaceful demeanor, giving fearlessness to sentient beings, knowing the union of mantra and tantra, as well as union, patience, and means, always speaking gently, treating sentient beings like an only child. If the yogi practices supreme meditation, with a compassionate mind that benefits sentient beings, speaking truthfully and not killing, if one fully knows these ten qualities, then one should rely on him as a teacher. Thus it is said. Thus, the good and bad qualities of a lama as stated in the sutras and tantras, and the image of the noble Avalokiteshvara taking the form of a human being. Je Mikyo Dorje said: An empty shell without Dharma in the heart, a mind without attachment like a bird's feather, for the meaning of accomplishment in transforming the form into yellow, one who possesses the eight worldly dharmas of accumulating wealth and gain, doing the work of a manager who lends money and calculates accounts, grasping the beginning of the eight agricultural activities, pursuing profit and quality.

Laying the foundation for transformation. Developing castle affairs and riding tools. Serving as a judge for litigation trials. Directly demanding harsh collateral. The wealthy seize shares for victory. Imposing punishments on groups of slaves. Sometimes to create chaos. In general, in the center of a village where dogs and pigs gather. The unfortunates gather together to perform empowerment. Even if they cannot hear, contemplate, or meditate on the Dharma. They do what is easy to understand and practice. It is said not to mix scriptures, commentaries, and instructions. The image of monks in the degenerate age is truly strange. The Lamas of the degenerate age are truly strange. They gather retinues and disciples with offerings. This stems from the root of attachment and aversion. The teacher and students take turns fighting. They base themselves on broken vows and complaints. The arrogance of self-grasping surges from the depths of their hearts. Because people of the eight worldly concerns are not harmonious. The "I" and "you" who crave gain and honor are biased. They deceive others with the appearance of a Lama. If there are any fortunate individuals, Be wary of such behavior. Furthermore, where is the hearing that can ripen others? If you associate with them daily, you will be ashamed by hermits and practitioners. They think of themselves as great Dharma holders. Now think, what can you do with such a friend? There is no discipline, hearing, contemplation, or meditation. Some with exhausted merit are promoted to Lamas. While committing evil deeds, they receive immeasurable offerings of faith. Now think, you scoundrels holding the name of Lama. They use all the wealth they gather for their own enjoyment. The people gathered around them are worse than wild beasts. They only teach the Dharma for this life. Now think, you scoundrels holding the name of Lama. For the sake of something as small as a needle tip of wealth. They abandon all the virtues of this life and the next. They do both Dharma and worldly things. Named hermits, they deceive themselves and come. Monastery monks accumulate various wealth. They lend money at high interest rates, expand houses, and enforce them. They follow the peaceful and forceful actions of worldly people. They deceive themselves and come to help others. Clearly, they are only creating evil deeds. Yet, they introduce their own mind as the Great Seal. Please have compassion on those teachers and students who contemplate the clear and aware nature of their own minds. Clearly, they cannot even keep one precept. Yet, they boast of having wisdom born of realization in their hearts. Only for this life.
