Recognize yourself. You can add or subtract words at will. If you introduce it to someone who has not arisen, it is wrong to practice thinking that it will become like that. In that case, the first dwelling place cannot be liberated even slightly. With one guidance, at least the middle dwelling place must arise. It is said that no matter how long or short the guidance is, the middle or lower dwelling place will definitely arise. At that time, if you introduce Vipassanā and practice, you will be able to grasp the path of one-pointed concentration. On this, some Drukpa Kagyu schools, such as Mipham Padma Karpo, believe that the three types of one-pointed concentration, superior, medium, and inferior, are just Śamatha, and then searching for the mind and introducing Vipassanā will give rise to the realization of freedom from elaboration. In that case, it is impossible to introduce Vipassanā by just requesting guidance for a month. Even those who have been practicing for six or seven years these days mostly have not exceeded the middle level of one-pointed concentration. If you die in that state, you will not even get an introduction to Vipassanā, and you will not be able to grasp the path. Not introducing Vipassanā until the superior one-pointed concentration has arisen is because "Vipassanā with excellent Śamatha" is the doctrine of the Kadampa Lamrim of the Sutra school. It is not the doctrine of Mahāmudrā and Dzogchen. The special feature of the practice method of the Unequaled Dagpo is the oral instructions of the four yogas, the intention of Jigten Sumgön Zhang Rinpoche, the three Gyarapas, and the four stages of yoga based on the experience of the monastery itself. When the continuum of the movement of thoughts is cut off and you abide in the state of non-thought, that abiding is unmoving, like the ocean. All the Kadampas also practice there. The Samādhi that abides in that way is without attachment, skillful in means, and grasped with wisdom, so the practice of one-pointed concentration can arise. Yoga means that skillful means and wisdom, or Śamatha and Vipassanā, are combined together, so it is those yogas, and that which is able to combine is called yoga. In the inconceivable tantras of the early Nyingma school, and in the later tantras like the great river of Āli Kālī, it is said that with the majestic Samādhi of a lion, one-pointed concentration is unmoving, clear, and awakens self-born wisdom from within. With steadfast patience, abandon the suffering of the lower realms. And, also, the monastery

From the mouth of [someone]: First, the yoga of one-pointedness that abides in its natural state. The samadhi of abiding in that is merely calm abiding. Here, "yoga" means that calm abiding and insight must be combined. Subtle and coarse thoughts subside in their own place. The mind is clear and empty, like the center of a clear sky, abiding clearly and luminously. The arising of certainty in non-thought is the experience of insight. Therefore, the meditation that combines calm abiding and insight, in a good meditation, the awareness of non-thought, is blissfully clear, awake, and natural. Abiding nakedly and plainly is seeing the nature of bliss and clarity. Sometimes it doesn't come even when you meditate, and sometimes it comes even when you don't meditate. Because you haven't gained mastery over samadhi, it's like a novice who isn't skilled. Therefore, it's a small one-pointedness. The thread of Mahamudra meditation is grasped from here, so an experienced lama will introduce this. That is what is called "meditation-born." It was said. From the Great Instruction: Small one-pointedness is when, with the mind left unaltered and uncorrected, merely resting in equipoise, manifest thoughts cease. If bliss and clarity go into non-thought, the mind will become one-pointed. Because you haven't gained mastery over samadhi, sometimes it doesn't come even when you meditate, and sometimes it comes even when you don't meditate. Sometimes it's clear, sometimes it's not clear. At that time, realization hasn't been attained, and great certainty hasn't arisen. Even so, it can draw in clarity. It grasps the beginning of wisdom and the edge of the dark path. These experiences of one-pointedness are like seeing just a corner of the crescent moon. When the mind is left uncorrected, it abides blissfully and luminously, and the feeling of not wanting to disturb it arises. If you don't disturb it, the meaning of meditation won't arise, so disturb it. Don't stop thoughts, but whatever thought arises, recognize its lack of inherent existence and settle it. Moreover, at the time of small one-pointedness, the mind has clarity and emptiness, and experiences of bliss, and there is grasping. In that state, when thoughts arise, they naturally become clear, and thinking that you are meditating, artificial certainty may also arise. Afterwards, there will be afterthoughts and clinging memories, and with joy and pleasure, appearances will mostly appear as clinging. With memory and experience, there will be a clinging to the idea that emptiness is the appearance of one's own mind, and apart from dreams being clearer and more vivid than before, there won't be much difference.
