The upper, middle, and lower parts of the body, from where do they arise, internally or externally? In particular, from where do they arise, solely from the channels, or from the winds, or from the bindus? Look well! From where do the external earth, water, fire, and wind arise? From which of those great elements are the house, home, man, woman, stability, and movement composed? From where does the mind arise? Look carefully! Likewise, the basis of abiding and ceasing should also be properly sought, and it should be sought again and again. What is called the arising, arising of the mind? From where does it arise? What arises? Where does it arise? How does it arise? Likewise, what is the abiding and ceasing like? Search thoroughly! Thus it is said. Orgyen Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) said: Place the mind clearly in the space in front, recognize that it 'is,' and what is placed is one's own nature. What is it like? Look well! Are the one who places and the mind to be placed one or two? Look! If they are two, there must be two minds, one becoming a Buddha and one wandering in samsara, so it is necessary to thoroughly determine whether they are two. If they are not two, then look to see if that one is the mind. What is this so-called mind like? Look in your own way. It is impossible to find it by searching in external objects. Also, look and search at the knowing itself that thinks, 'What is the mind like!' Look and search one by one at the knowing of the meditator! In reality, see if the so-called mind seems to exist! If it exists, what shape is it? Is it round, or square, crescent, triangular, etc.? Look thoroughly! If you think there is some shape, look at that shape! If you think there is nothing to point out, then it is impossible for a shape that cannot be pointed out to have substance. This is the introduction to emptiness through shape. Likewise, what is there in terms of shape, color, size, direction, etc.? Investigate thoroughly! If you think that none of these exist, then what is the point of meditating on emptiness, which has nothing? There is a thought that one has not found it. If there is nothing, then who is it that generates hatred? Isn't there someone who thinks they haven't found the mind? Look well! If it exists, then if it exists, it must have substance and color.

Is it to be taken away? If not, is there a rememberer like an ignorant corpse? Therefore, whether it exists or not, what is it like in between, observe clearly. And, from the 'Dharmakaya Finger Pointing': To look at whether body and mind are one or different, then are body and mind one or different? If they are one, how can the body, which is subject to birth and death, and the mind, which is not subject to birth and death, be one? Moreover, the body is matter and the mind is consciousness, they are not the same. If they were one, when the body dies, the mind would also die, and if a thorn pricks the body, the mind would also be pricked. If they are different, when the body is pricked by a thorn, which, body or mind, feels it? If only the body feels it, then animals would also feel it. If the mind feels it, then the body and mind are different, and when the body experiences pain and the mind feels it, then harming the earth and stones would also cause pain to the mind, which should be the case according to reason, but it is not. Therefore, observe well. All arising feelings should be recognized and observed like waves from water. And, in the words of Drungchen Kunga Namgyal: If we examine the nature of the mind that we are meditating on by relying on tightening and loosening, what is the nature of that abiding mind like? Does it have color and shape? From its state, where do the spontaneously arising thoughts come from? Where do they abide? How do they ultimately disappear? When thoughts disappear, do they disappear from nothing? Or do they disappear as they abide? Do they disappear emptily? How do they disappear, have a definite understanding of this. And, how do the images of habitual tendencies such as humans, horses, and cows appear? How do they abide? Have a definite understanding of how they ultimately disappear. Also, is the abiding state relaxed? Is it just comfortably abiding? Is it clearly and brightly abiding? Or is it not? It seems to be emptily existing, have a definite understanding of this. Is there a difference between your own perceived relaxation and the nature that has been examined? Determine these and tell me. Second is cutting the root: Whether all these differences are one or different, examine them, and mainly look for the master of the observer, these will also arise later. How did subtle thoughts and observations arise regarding these? Also, in terms of practice, what are the key points of good and bad, what are the obstacles and aids, and only from distinguishing these aspects, the mind is uneasy, regarding doubts and contradictory learning content, etc.
