If it were so, childish ordinary people would not know, unwise people are intoxicated by the arrogance of wealth. Thus it is said. Since there is no one who has not died and remained alive, death is certain. The scholar Ashvaghosa said: On earth or in the heavens, has anyone been born and not died? Have you seen some? Heard or have doubts? Thus it is said. There is no escape from death, so death is certain. The Sutra of Great Play says: Wherever one dwells, there is no place where death cannot reach, there is no such place anywhere. Not in the sky, not in the depths of the ocean, nor on the shoulders of mountains. Thus it is said. The Advice to the King Sutra says: Wherever one dwells, there is no place where death cannot reach, there is no such place anywhere. Not in the sky, not in the depths of the ocean, not even if one enters the crevices of mountains. Know that the great fear of death is the destruction of the body and the end of life. You should believe in attaining the state of immortality, once you attain Nirvana, there will be no more death. Thus it is said. The Vinaya Sutra says: The great sages with five kinds of clairvoyance, even if they can travel far in the sky, if their sphere of activity does not have immortality, then they cannot reach it. Thus it is said. Because there are many causes of death, death is certain. The noble Nagarjuna said: The causes of death are very many, but the causes of life are only a few. Those causes of life are themselves causes of death. Therefore, always accumulate Dharma. Thus it is said. Aryadeva said: This life is full of dangers, as impermanent as a bubble of water struck by the wind. Between exhaling and inhaling, falling asleep and waking up, to have the leisure to wake up, that is all very amazing. Thus it is said. The Lord of Death is at the mouth because of causes, like a lamp in a red wind. Thus it is said. Even if merit and wealth are great, death cannot be averted. The great accomplished Mitra Joki said to his father: No matter how wealthy you are, once you pass away and go to another world, like an Arhat alone in a desolate plain, without a son, without a consort, without clothes, without food, without a kingdom, without a bed, even if you have immeasurable power and armies, you cannot see, there is no dwelling. Only one shroud follows, but it will not come back. In short, your name

Even if it's just a little bit, if it's not there at that time, what else is there to say? So it is said. The teacher Hero says: As it is said: Those who experience happiness born from sentient beings, even Brahma falls from the place of Brahma, because of impermanence, like a stone by the water. Thousands of Indras and hundreds of Chakravartins will also face death, like a butter lamp being blown out by the wind. So it is said. Even if blessings and abilities are great, they cannot stop death. Arhats, Pratyekabuddhas, and perfectly enlightened Buddhas must also show the aspect of Nirvana. From the "Collection of Purposeful Verses": Whether it is a Pratyekabuddha or a Shravaka disciple of the Buddha, if they abandon this body, what need is there to mention ordinary people? So it is said. The teacher Hero says: How many Buddhas' bodies, adorned with signs and marks, even the Vajra body is impermanent, what need is there to mention other sentient beings who are like trees by the water without essence? So it is said. No matter how many relatives and enjoyments, friends, they cannot save from death. Except for the excellent Dharma, nothing else can benefit. From the "Story of the Seven Young Women": The lord of the earth makes thousands of efforts to accumulate wealth in the house, but people will abandon it in an instant. Only this good saying is the right path. So it is said. From the "Sutra of the Five Perfections": Sons and wives, the throne, the country, and wealth, at the time of death, none can become friends. Generosity, taming, total holding, and the aggregate of morality, these are the friends who go to the other shore. So it is said. From the "Sutra of Admonishing the King": When the messenger of death comes, the king must also leave, relatives and enjoyments, friends cannot follow. Wherever this person is born, karma follows like a shadow. So it is said. In short, from the "Bodhicharyavatara": It is not reasonable to think that one will not die today and live comfortably. When oneself disappears, death will surely come. Who can give me the courage not to fear death? How can one be liberated from death? If death will surely come, how can I be at ease? So it is said. When alive, like this, leaving relatives and friends,
