This leisure is extremely difficult to obtain. If one has obtained the accomplishment of human purpose, If one does not accomplish benefit from this, how will one ever accomplish this perfection later? So it is said. The term "person" in Indian language is "purusha" (梵文天城体:पुरुष,梵文罗马拟音:puruṣa,汉语字面意思:man), which means strength and ability. And this strength and ability has three levels: small, medium, and large. As the "Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment" says: "Small, medium, and supreme, one should know that there are three kinds of persons." So it is said. The small one can avoid falling into the lower realms and attain the state of gods and humans. The medium one can liberate oneself from samsara and attain peace and happiness. The supreme one has the ability to attain Buddhahood for the sake of sentient beings. As the "Lamp for the Path" says: "Whoever, by whatever means, seeks only the happiness of samsara for their own sake, is said to be the lowest person. Turning their back on the pleasures of existence, and by nature turning away from sinful deeds, whoever seeks only their own peace, is said to be the middling person. Because of the suffering belonging to their own continuum, whoever wishes to completely eliminate the suffering of others, this one seeks supreme enlightenment, this person is the supreme one." So it is said. This leisure and endowment body can abandon non-virtue and accomplish virtue, can cultivate the path to enlightenment, and can attain Buddhahood, therefore it is superior to other beings such as gods and nagas. As the teacher Chandra Gomi said: "Whoever obtains and grasps the edge of the ocean of birth, and also sows the good seed of supreme enlightenment, surpassing even the wish-fulfilling jewel, who would make this human existence fruitless? Whatever is obtained by a person with great mental strength, that path is not obtained by gods and nagas, nor by asuras, flying vidyadharas, kinnaras, or reptiles." So it is said. As the "Letter to a Student" says: "Whoever obtains and grasps the edge of the ocean of birth, and also sows the good seed of supreme enlightenment, surpassing even the wish-fulfilling jewel, who would make this human existence fruitless? The Sugata's path shows the way to lead beings most excellently, whatever is obtained by a person with great mental strength, that path is not obtained by gods and nagas, nor by asuras and flying vidyadharas, kinnaras, or reptiles." So it is said. Thus, the precious human body

Therefore, it is crucial to contemplate the meaning of the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment. In the Vajra verses spoken by Avalokiteśvara, it is said: "Whoever takes this precious human body, with the meaning of cause and effect, contemplates the meaning of the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, and diligently practices. Thus it is said. The method of contemplating the difficulty of obtaining is, as stated in the Essence of Madhyamaka: "Possessing the lamp of the sacred Dharma, abandoning the eight unfavorable conditions, this leisure, one should make it fruitful through the conduct of a great person. Thus it is said. In the Karuṇāpuṇḍarīka Sūtra, it is said: "Alas! Even being born as a human is difficult to obtain. Having leisure and endowment is also difficult to obtain. Buddhas appearing in the world is also difficult to obtain. Having aspiration for virtuous Dharma is also difficult to obtain." Furthermore, in the Akṣayamati Sūtra, it is said: "Completely abandoning all eight unfavorable conditions, having obtained the rare and perfect leisure, the appearance and long duration of the Buddhas, and likewise, faith in the teachings are also difficult to obtain. Obtaining a human existence is extremely difficult, therefore, diligently strive in the teachings of the Victorious Ones. Thus it is said. In the Secret Inconceivable Sūtra, it is said: "The appearance of Buddhas in the world is a hundred thousand difficulties, obtaining a human body is not obtained by a collection of causes. Alas! Faith and listening to the Dharma, such things are difficult to obtain even in a hundred thousand eons. It is also said: "The appearance of Buddhas is extremely difficult to obtain, parents who delight in the Dharma, as well as leisure, wealth, and Dharma-desiring friends, harmonious dwelling, and the teachings are extremely rare. Having obtained that, until enlightenment is attained, the wise never abandon the Dharma. Thus it is said. So, why is it difficult to obtain? The body of leisure and endowment is obtained by accumulating virtuous deeds, while those born in the three lower realms, because they do not understand virtuous deeds, always engage in sinful actions. Therefore, even if one is born in the three lower realms, it is only through accumulating lesser evil deeds, and the karma that will be experienced in other lifetimes, that one can obtain (a human body with leisure and endowment). In the Bodhicaryāvatāra, it is said: "Even a single moment of sinful action, will cause one to remain in Avīci hell for an eon. What need is there to mention not falling into the happy realms, with the sins accumulated since beginningless samsara? Thus it is said. In general, merely obtaining a happy realm requires accomplishment through various virtuous deeds, and especially leisure and endowment.
