Thus it is. The Jewish people are a blessed people. Those called "householders" possess hundreds and thousands of gold, silver, and granaries. They are extremely wealthy and happy. The Chinese are of the untouchable caste. The central region is called Yalong. The people of Kham are vulgar and wicked. The unkind engage in evil deeds. Thus, there are five major ethnic groups in the world. There are twenty-four large regions. There are one thousand and two small regions. There are three hundred and sixty ethnic groups. There are seven hundred and twenty languages. There are one hundred and eighteen border regions. And one thousand and two even more remote regions. In most border and even more remote regions, the sacred Dharma does not flourish. Birth, old age, and death, these three, exist for all human races. Disease, evil spirits, enemies, and untimely death are common among the people of the three continents. The difficulty of seeking what is non-existent, and the suffering of sustaining what exists, are uniquely experienced by everyone in the world. If these are carefully calculated, it is said that there are eighty sufferings. Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara. I pray that I and all who have obtained a human body may be protected by Great Compassion from the suffering of birth, aging, and death. When the moment of death arrives, may there be no suffering, and may all times be in the ever-blissful pure land, the Land of Bliss (Sukhavati). Please lead me there, Noble Avalokiteśvara. A song of remembrance of human joys and sorrows. Written on the seventh day of the Bird Month in the Horse Year. May it benefit all beings! Ema! Ema! How wonderful! The happiness of gods and humans is impermanent and changing. Birth ends in death, construction ends in destruction. Meeting ends in separation, prosperity ends in decline. The suffering of the lower realms is unbearable. Fame and glory eventually lead to hell. In countless lifetimes. Even though such suffering has been experienced. Now we do not remember and do not know fear. Like being consumed and extinguished by flames, like red-hot iron sticking to the ground, like drinking boiling bile, we have experienced countless years. Are we still not weary? Crying for the death of relatives and friends. If those tears were collected, they would be like an ocean. Even if the heads of enemies that have been cut off were piled up, they would be as high as a mountain. Those who kill become children, and friendly companions are reborn as enemies who kill. Wheel-turning kings and kings of the gods. Having been born as powerful beings, they are reborn again as insects, worms, dogs, pigs, the blind, and beggars.

Transformation. Even if one obtains the happiness of gods and humans for trillions of years, There is still not even a little contentment. Even if one experiences the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, and death hundreds of billions of times, There is still no thought of weariness. Still in billions of kalpas, In countless, inexpressible, inconceivable periods, There is no end to the cycle of rebirth. Suffering is vast and the number is great, Like the ripples of water, Deep and without a time of liberation, The ocean of samsara is extremely terrifying. The waves of birth, old age, sickness, and death are turbulent, The crocodiles of the five poisons of affliction are numerous, Gods, humans, and asuras, The three realms of higher realms are temporarily happy, But cannot abide for long and suffering arises. The three lower realms of hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals, The suffering of the evil realms is manifest. Not included in the six realms, The consciousness of the bardo, the mental body, At the age of eight, In the six realms, one is born with various colors, Those with merit have large bodies, And light pervades the area, Those of medium merit have medium bodies and light, Those of lower merit are at the age of eight, And the light is only the width of a path, The length of life is seven days, After that, they die and are reborn again. Every seven days, On that day, morning, afternoon, midnight, etc., They die at the time they died before. If the place of rebirth is not determined, The mental body of the bardo arises again. Twenty-one days or forty-nine days, Some people do not complete their lifespan, And remain in the bardo. Some people, due to the power of karma, For hundreds of thousands of years, Cannot obtain a body no matter what, It is said that there are also those who remain in the bardo. That is called the path of waiting for the Dharma. A roaring sound like that from the bottom of the ocean, Like a thousand dragons roaring at once, A sound like a great fire spreading, A sound like Mount Meru collapsing, Four terrifying sounds are constantly emitted. Rain, snow, hail, and blizzards, Dark armies, beasts, and, Wrathful deities and Yama constantly chase. That is called the eight terrifying dangerous paths. There is no certainty about the place, On the top of mountains and the edge of the ocean, Like powerless cotton being blown by the wind, Unable to stay and the mind is sad. There are many expectations and complaints towards the living, There is much regret and sadness for the dead, There is great hope of obtaining a body, There is great regret for not practicing the Dharma, There is great fear of falling into hell, Sometimes
