It is said in the treatises: Parents are considered as both gods and humans by all beings in the world. The ripening of the karma of honoring parents and serving them by rising, not to mention experiencing it in other lifetimes, is said to mature in this very life. Why? Because it is an extremely excellent field of merit. Therefore, even the fully ordained Buddha departed after prostrating and circumambulating his father. Similarly, most of the wise and accomplished ones of the past prostrated and circumambulated their parents. It is said that the great accomplished one Mitra Joki wore his parents' shoelaces as a head ornament. The great Indian scholar and teacher, the brave one, was known as 'Ma Khol,' the servant of his mother, and 'Pa Khol' was the name given to the servant of his father. The son of King Śākya, Śuddhodana, made his aunt Mahāprajāpatī act as his mother, shortened his own life by ten years, and allowed the mistress of beings to be ordained. Those who hate their parents will be burned in hell, as widely proclaimed in the Abhidharma and other scriptures. Similarly, in the Great Tantra of Purifying the Lower Realms, it is said that those who are stingy towards their parents will never attain liberation. Therefore, by properly applying the unerring scriptures such as the sutras, tantras, and guru yoga, regard parents as the fourth jewel, honor them and treat them as objects of offering, and serve them with gentle words and a loving heart to the best of your ability. These words are what immediately came to mind, and were quickly written due to the urging of circumstances. Ara Gaso. Homage to the Guru. The essential advice is: Even if you listen to hundreds and thousands of Dharma teachings, if you do not remember death from the bottom of your heart, there is no hope of accomplishing the sacred Dharma. Black people do not enter the Dharma gate, and that is also the fault of not remembering death. Practitioners do not get started in the Dharma, and that is also the fault of not remembering death. Leaders cause conflicts, wars, and robberies, and that is also the fault of not remembering death. People kill and slaughter many wild animals, and that is also the fault of not remembering death. Nuns pretend to be ordained and kill infants, and that is also the fault of not remembering death. Those who know how to meditate but do not strive to practice, that is also the fault of not remembering death. Once you are certain to remember death, how is it possible not to practice the sacred Dharma? The Buddha said in all the sutras and tantras that all compounded things are impermanent. The end of birth is death.
