When the Vidyadhara Mingyur Dorje was twelve years old, he saw the Medicine Buddha in a dream, giving blessings to patients on paper. On the third night of the last star month (December) of the Monkey year (Tibetan calendar), he directly saw the Medicine Buddha and gave the practice method. When he was seventeen years old, in the spring of the Ox year, when he was in retreat, the habits of the past Vairocana awakened, and the root words of the Medicine Buddha's practice method and this empowerment were taken from the mind treasure. Among them, the benefits of this empowerment are: the two sutras of the Medicine Buddha, the meaning spoken by the World Honored Shakyamuni Buddha is summarized and said: Those who practice celibacy will not lose their precepts, those who are incomplete or damaged due to illness will have their limbs complete, all diseases will be completely pacified, and there will be no diseases until enlightenment is attained, they will not be harmed by curses and mantra damage, they will be liberated from the fear and punishment of the king, and they will not lack food, clothing, and enjoyment. The twelve Yaksha generals and their seventy hundred thousand retinues will protect and save, and eliminate all harm. Vajrapani, Brahma, and Indra will also protect at all times. The poor and destitute doctors and all diseases that cannot find medicine will be pacified, which is a ritual that benefits this life. Women can also cut off the birth of women and be transformed into men from now on. In this life, due to the sins of stinginess and robbery, even if they are reborn as hungry ghosts in the next life, they can immediately remember the Medicine Buddha and be liberated, and be reborn as rich and have great enjoyment.
