Also, in the empowerment rituals of union and others, it says: 'It is the root of all downfalls. Alcohol should be completely abandoned.' Furthermore, in the verses of the twenty-five practices spoken of in the Kalachakra, it says: 'Drinking alcohol causes intoxication, and it is also the five bases of learning.' Thus, it is said that not drinking alcohol is a samaya (vow) of Secret Mantra. So, what does it mean when many Secret Mantra meditation manuals, such as the Guhyasamaja oral transmission, say: 'Always rely on strength and intoxicants,' thus speaking of relying on meat and alcohol? That does not mean to rely on them immoderately at all times. Rather, after gaining great stability in the generation stage, and after a little warmth and wisdom have arisen in union, at the time of meditating on the channels, winds, and bindus of the path, for the purpose of nourishing the body and increasing bodhicitta, one should take the meat of animals that have died from karma, and pills of amrita (nectar) should be put into the alcohol. Having blessed them as offerings for the hand offering or tsok (feast), one should partake of them with yoga, relying on them slightly in the manner of medicine and nourishing food, not eating to the point of being full like ordinary people. The Kalachakra says that it is the meaning of offering the Vajra of Speech, and it is not the case that intoxicants are necessarily spoken of for all mantra practitioners. Moreover, in its commentary, it says: 'Likewise, the drinking of alcohol is to slightly satisfy thirst, not like a vase or the like; intoxicants will not cause liberation for the lords of yoga.' Thus it is said. Therefore, except for those who have attained accomplishment, one should not drink more than a skullcup full of tsok alcohol. It is not permissible to store alcohol from one tsok gathering and then drink another skullcup full later. A skullcup was suitable for people of the past because they were large in body and therefore had large skullcups, but it is not suitable now. For those who are not of the type with extremely large bodies, the size of the skullcup should be such that it is not missing any part cut from between the eyebrows and the hairline. It is permissible to drink a skullcup full of alcohol taken from above the hairline. Moreover, it is very important that the vajra master who performs the tsok be one who definitely possesses samaya (vow), has completed the recitation count, and possesses realization of the generation and completion stages. It is not sufficient to merely know the ritual. How is this meaning known? In the past, the Sixth Omniscient Gyalwa himself presided over and performed tsok. Even if it is not like that, one's own family's tsok gathering is a matter of timely consideration. If one drinks alcohol indiscriminately, one will break one's vows.

In the ritual of, take it out from the ritual practice. When the Tsogkhor gathers, everyone prays individually. Therefore, not even a single drop is drunk. If there are more reasons why this method is good, then all the faults mentioned above will arise. So, how to measure the amount of alcohol? All the tantras of Chakrasamvara and other mantras say: "One wine in a conch shell vessel." It is said to be a supreme vessel for food and drink. Marpa gave Milarepa, Milarepa gave Gampopa, etc., each gave a skull cup of wine, and after drinking it all, they became lineage holders, etc., which is the auspicious coincidence of interdependence. Or Sakya Pandita said: "Offer meat and wine, etc. in the offering Torma, and those who are diligent in precepts should taste the nectar with their tongues." This is what he said. According to the views of Master Shantarakshita, Panchen Shakya Shri, and Jowo Je, it is necessary to taste the wine with the ring finger. This is also because of the fear that it will be harmful to the disease, or that others will not believe and slander the mantra, so taste it with the ring finger or say that it is distributed with a nectar tube, and distributed with a wooden spoon. If it is not like this, even if only a little bit of Bhanda is forbidden, and then conceptual thoughts are made, burying the Tsog wine underground, or spitting it out from the mouth, etc., is not allowed. Dobipa said: "If you eat conceptual thoughts and scruples, you will be reborn in the blister hell. Therefore, even monks and others who have conceptual thoughts should not make conceptual thoughts here." This is what he said. Small-minded people who are disrespectful and slander will be reborn in the Avici hell. This is what he said. The great accomplished person Zangpo Jinpa said: "Receive it with respect, and those who do not believe should not receive it, drink it like nectar." This is what he said. Zangpo Jinpa and Aphukara both said: "If the drinking vessels increase, give each person one each." This is what he said, so it is one Bhanda per person. One Chani per person is because many Bhandas were not found, because Bhanda, it is not very big. Therefore, Buddha Yeshe Zhab and Shantipa also said: "The vessels of offerings, each one for each person, do not examine whether they are pure or impure." As it is said, throw a skull cup into a wine vessel such as a haystack, and in this way all the ten directions say they have drunk. A Bhanda full will not be more.
