Sa! If the body suffers, it will not be accomplished. If you rely on all the desired enjoyments, you will quickly achieve accomplishment. It is said that the asceticism of outsiders is hanging on mountains and throwing themselves into fire, etc., but merely abstaining from meat and alcohol is not asceticism. Chandrakirti said that hanging on mountains and throwing oneself into fire, etc., are unbearable. Ngorchen said that just because it is slaughtered meat, it can be used as an offering and a vow substance for consumption. It is not for oneself, and it is not slaughtered for the sake of the Tsogkor, etc. If one obtains the three kinds of pure meat, it can be used as a Torma decoration for offering to the deities and as a Tsog substance, a vow substance for consumption. The Tantra of the Yogin's Empowerment, the Self-Tantra of the Cemetery Black Goddess, which are the two Nyingma Tantras, and the speech Tantra of the Four-Armed Mahakala, the Boiling Blood Sea, and the Tantra of the Mother Root Blood-Sucking, the Boiling Poisonous Vapor, which are the two New Tantras and the four Tantras, all say that slaughtered flesh and blood can be used as offerings. In this way, eating the three kinds of pure meat in the Tsogshar is like eating the flesh of one's own child, generating compassion for that sentient being, and inscribing blessed Dharani mantras on the bones of that sentient being, and blessing them with vast dedication prayers, and nourishing the body with the idea that it is medicine, eating it in moderation. The Remembrance Sutra says: Food is like medicine, and also like eating the flesh of one's own child, whether it is moderate or inappropriate, a yogi should enjoy food. That's what it says. Also, Tsog offerings should not be stored up and eaten repeatedly. Great achievers say that one should not store up the objects of accomplishment, but should eat them quickly. Also, Tsog Zan, Tsog Chang, Tsog meat, etc., there are many kinds of food in the Tsog, one should not go hungry without counting them, but should eat and drink to one's fill. That's what it says. One should not eat too much that one cannot digest, the Kalachakra says: Any food is for comfort, and it is not said to be the cause of not being able to digest it every day. And, in its commentary, it says: Likewise, making food is, here all food is for comfort, whatever one makes a little food, all those very small things will become comfortable, therefore one should not make it the cause of not being able to digest it every day. This is the determination of food. That's what it says. Therefore, people should not be too

If someone doesn't have indigestion, they shouldn't eat more than a mouthful of food that is easily digestible. One shouldn't eat even a single piece of gathering meat, even as small as the legs of ants or insects. The amount of ants' or insects' legs, it is said that if one consumes as much as seven generations' worth of meat, it will bring benefit, so it is permissible to eat that much. If one doesn't eat gathering meat at all, one will incur the thirteenth root downfall of secret mantra, which is: "Regarding the samaya, it is as it is." (Tibetan: དམ་ཚིག་ལ་ནི་ཇི་བཞིན་ཉིད།, Sanskrit Devanagari: samayaṃ hi yathātathyam, Sanskrit Romanization: samayam hi yathātathyam, Literal Chinese meaning: The samaya is as it is.) "Not relying is the thirteenth." (Tibetan: མི་བསྟེན་པ་ནི་བཅུ་གསུམ་པའོ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: nāśrayo hi trayodaśaḥ, Sanskrit Romanization: nāśrayo hi trayodaśaḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Not relying is the thirteenth.) In its commentary, Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen also said that it is a root downfall, and Rangjungpa also said the same. Songtsen Gampo also said that if one doesn't eat gathering during fasting, one will break the samaya. Dompa also said that if one eats conceptualization and hesitation, one will be born in the Blister Hell. In the gathering assembly, a Brahmin went to the gathering line in the land of Oddiyana. Because he felt disgusted by the gathering substances of meat and blood and lost conceptualization, he died with blood gushing from his nose, there is such a story. Orgyen Rinpoche said, "One should not doubt this!" If one doubts, one will receive the punishment of the dakinis and fall due to the fault of the root downfall. There are such excellent lineages of practice. Starting from the time when Je Rolpai Dorje was always accompanied by about five hundred monks wearing patched robes, and meat, not even a single hair of a wild animal, would come into his sight, he perfected his biography. The monasteries established by Je Mikyo Dorje, such as Zur, mostly established strict meat prohibitions. In Dratsang Nyinling, although there is no meat prohibition, those who abstain from meat are served noodles separately, called "Dor Karwa." The Yabseys (father and sons) would not allow meat to come into their sight except for white flour, but during the gathering circle, all those who abstain from meat would partake of the gathering meat. The Yabseys would also offer a little in order not to violate their samaya. Therefore, it is best to strictly abstain from meat and eat the three pure meats during the gathering circle to protect the samaya. If the amount is large, eat until the point where the three, meat, alcohol, and food, cannot be digested. If the amount is small, eat as much as the legs of ants or insects. In the middle, renounce the offered meat and eat meat that is not offered, reducing the amount of the gathering when eating. At the very least, renounce human meat and meat of animals of the same kind, bless it as nectar, and treat it like an inner fire offering.
