Even if they hear the name of the Medicine Buddha now, even if they are born as pretas and animals, by the blessing of that Buddha, remembering the name of the Medicine Buddha, they will quickly be liberated and reborn as humans. There, too, they will enjoy giving and will be able to complete the accumulation of the perfection of giving. Also, if one ordains and enters a perverse discipline, or enters a perverse view, or even if one keeps the precepts, one abandons much learning, and therefore does not understand the meaning of the Buddha's teachings, or one despises others with the arrogance of much learning, accumulating the karma of abandoning the Dharma, one will fall into the great hell. Even if they hear the name of the Medicine Buddha, by the power of the blessing, even in hell they will remember that name and quickly be liberated. Afterwards, being reborn as a human, they will have faith, diligence, and good thoughts, and will be ordained and practice the conduct of enlightenment.
