He said, "There are many ways to practice this. For a while, mix and meditate on any physical discomfort that arises, such as chest pain. Mix and meditate on any manifestation of evil omens, such as rough dreams and omens of defeat. Remember any suffering from the past, such as the death of your own mother, and mix it with that. Furthermore, if you worry about your father and relatives being sick, worry about death, worry about enemies appearing, and so on, clearly imagine in your mind what will happen, and mix it with that and meditate. Don't do these just once, but meditate diligently, and your stones and bones will become harmonious." Also, regarding the four modes of conduct, when I asked if it mattered whether one was distracted or not, since there was no difference between good and bad in the essence [of mind], he said that it was just as it is, and there was no need to be distracted. Realizing that there is no good or bad in the essence of distraction and non-distraction, one should regard post-meditation as mixed with mindfulness. In general, after about a year, there will be unprecedented examples of roots and stems, so cultivate joy in your mind, he said. Furthermore, whenever the lama is remembered, a feeling of being inseparable from one's own mind arises, and I asked whether those experiences and ascertainments of mixing samsara and nirvana with one's own mind should be practiced. He said, "When the lama is remembered, the arising of inseparability from one's own mind is what is called the merging of mind and heart. Mixing samsara and nirvana with one's own mind is not something to be practiced, because it seems that it will not arise continuously." As before, without attachment to samsara, compassion arises spontaneously from the state of practice. I asked whether this belongs to compassion focused on the Dharma. He said, "That belongs to objectless compassion, so it is superior." Also, does the so-called Dharmadhatu refer to all of samsara and nirvana? Since there are many kinds of Akanishta, how should one identify the ultimate one? He said, "Dharmadhatu refers to all of samsara and nirvana. There are three kinds of Akanishta: the ultimate Akanishta is the place where yogis who have become supreme in view and meditation reside, and that is also Akanishta. The Akanishta of the world is: on top of this world, all the celestial realms are stacked, and on top of that is Akanishta, which is the abode of the gods. The gods who reside there are all noble beings. Vajradhara resides there. That is a small Sambhogakaya. The densely arrayed Akanishta is: there is an inconceivable realm, and there, Vairochana, the snowy mountain ocean, the measure of his body is beyond comprehension, on top of the begging bowl in his hand

It is said that this world is located on the thirteenth layer of twenty-five layers of flowers stacked in the lotus water sea. Below it is the great Akanishta. It is said that it is also named the Sambhogakaya Vajradhara there. Again, although one is not grasping the wind now, if the thought arises that one's body and mind are uncomfortable due to wind disease as a symptom, I asked the reason. He replied, "Grasping the wind and seizing the mind is the six dharmas of Naropa. Because there are many obstacles, it is difficult to go on that path. Seizing the mind and seizing the wind is the Mahamudra method of Sarahaha, so there are no obstacles. By guarding the essence, the wind naturally enters the central channel, so do not hold the body posture, just relax, that is profound." Previously, Drungpa Gongma had a severe wind illness, and he moistened his chest with a bag of cold water, and after a moment the water became hot. However, without doing anything such as medicine, substances, mantras, or visualizations, he guarded his own essence, and the disease was cured and he attained accomplishment. Gyarawa, Godtsangpa, Lorepa, etc., also had diseases such as lice, dropsy, leprosy, etc. Without doing anything such as medicine, earth, mantras, or visualizations, they attained accomplishment by guarding only their own essence. This cannot be practiced by others, because you already have a good increase in realization, look at the essence of that discomfort, and try to balance discomfort and comfort as much as possible. If I take medicine and do visualizations to eliminate diseases and evil spirits, is this contradictory? Or should I give up these now and rely on the blessings of the Three Jewels, whatever good or bad may come? He replied, "You cannot yet do as the accomplished masters such as Drungpa did. Some realized ones of the Kagyu lineage, such as Lhundrup Rabjam, initially tried to balance, but failed and later had to use medicine and exorcism, etc. In general, we are not balancers, so we cannot give up medicine, etc. Do not give up the daily practice of Hayagriva, etc., do it a little, but do not perform other mantra visualizations aimed at evil spirits. Guard your own essence and maintain balance in your mind. See if it helps the meaning." I asked, "To which of the two truths does the realization of emptiness, determined by separating one and many, belong?" He replied, "The emptiness determined by separating one and many is considered to be the ultimate truth in the general tenets."
