Therefore, it is important to meditate on attaining it at all times, so meditate as much as possible on the four preliminary practices, whether extensive or concise, generally speaking. If you have already received other instructions such as Mahamudra, that is sufficient. It is sufficient to combine all of these into one Dharma session. Furthermore, when meditating on profound instructions, for example, just as when a dyeing cloth is washed well and made free of dirt, it can absorb any color, similarly, just as a dirty cloth cannot be dyed, it is very important to purify obscurations, as said by Je Taklung Thangpa Chenpo. Moreover, in the decree given by Shabdrung, it is said that reciting the Vajrasattva Hundred Syllable Mantra easily generates warmth. Therefore, this is very important among the preliminaries. Its root verses were composed by Je Konchog Bang, and should be recited and meditated upon. On the crown of my head, the glorious Lama himself, abides in the form of Vajrasattva. From the great toe of his right foot, the nectar of wisdom enters through the Brahma aperture, filling the body, may the obscurations of karma and afflictions be purified! Om Vajrasattva Samaya, etc. Recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra or the Six Syllable Mantra. Regarding this meaning, Drung Kyi Rinpoche said: Purifying obscurations by relying on the Hundred Syllable Mantra means that the mind does not go anywhere else, and with one-pointedness, on the top of one's head, on a lotus and moon seat, Lama Vajrasattva abides, from the toe of his foot descends the nectar of wisdom, entering from my Brahma aperture, contemplate that the obscurations of the three doors are purified, and recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra. As it is said, focus only on this one goal, do it for seven days or five days, etc., or until signs appear. The signs are, Je Rangjung Dorje said: By meditating in this way, the signs of purifying the three obscurations of body, speech, and mind are, dreams of taking a bath, wearing clean white clothes, etc., will appear. Furthermore, there are dreams of flying in the sky, the sun and moon rising, pus and blood, impure substances and insects coming out of the body, finding crystals and stupas, drinking milk nectar, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. Actually, there will be clarity of the elements, clarity of mind, and ease of mind, etc. The King of Secret Mantras, the Unsurpassed Yoga Tantra, says: By just once, all downfalls and impurities will be purified. This is the benefit of the Hundred Syllable Mantra. In the tantra of Vajrapani in Blue Garments, it says: Om Vajrasattva Hum

Hūṃ (Tibetan: 吽, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ). It is said that reciting this mantra thirty million times can purify the sins and obstacles of breaking vows and transgressions, and be reborn in the pure land. In the age of strife, four times the amount is needed, that is, reciting one hundred and twenty million times will definitely purify the sins and obstacles of breaking vows and transgressions, therefore, complete the recitation of the number, or signs will appear. This is one Dharma session. Then, in this case, it is not permissible to speak without empowerment, if spoken, the teacher will commit the sin of divulging secrets, and the disciple will be punished by the Ḍākinīs. Therefore, before that, if one has received the empowerment of Gyalwa Gyatso (Dalai Lama), that is sufficient. If not, then for those who request instructions, it is best to have the complete four empowerments of Gyalwa Gyatso, or the Torma empowerment of the Five Deities of Zhongdeng, made by Könchog Bang. At the very least, one should receive the subsequent permission that includes the realization of the Five Deities, which includes the liberation of one as all, which is always important. Without empowerment, there is no accomplishment, just like squeezing sand yields no oil. Giving without empowerment, the teacher and disciple, immediately after death, even if they attain accomplishment, will fall into hell. Thus it is said. When requesting profound instructions, a Tsog Khorlo (feast gathering) is needed. Thus it is said. Rechungpa said: There is the life essence of the Ocean of Dakinis. It is said that this is it. Because it has been strictly sealed and is very important, it is best not to show it to anyone other than the lineage holder. For the Kagyu school, among the outer, inner, and secret yidams, this is a secret yidam, so it is very important and jealous. This seems to be the vow not to spread it to others. The great accomplished Karma pa said that in order to open the seal, and in order for teachers and disciples to naturally accumulate wealth in accordance with the Dharma, this is also the most supreme instruction. Therefore, in the evening, hold the Gyalwa Gyatso Tsog offering as much as possible. Then, regarding the main practice instructions, Rinpoche Karmapa said that the four key points are the essence of turning the wheel of Dharma without interruption. Panchen Naropa said: The way to stay in the body is the key to meditation. Rinpoche Karmapa said: The posture of the body of the four elements is, comfort, spaciousness, and relaxation, the three. Je Könchog Bang said: Completely abandon the hustle and bustle of the body, sit in the lotus position with legs crossed, straighten the spine like an arrow, and press the hands on the earth.
