Because it is the obscuration of knowledge and the bondage of nirvana, it is called poison. Because it is merely an object and lacks discrimination, it is the discrimination of objects. Because it clings to the ordinary, it is the state of an ordinary person and the degree of impurity. Although there are many names, it is actually the bondage of objects, which is the object to be purified. The discrimination of objects is the basis of purification, and the discrimination of subjects is the purifier, and these two are not contradictory. The three doors of liberation, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the five wisdoms, and other qualities of the Dharmakaya, as well as the five families, four mothers, five dakinis, and all the deities of the Rupakaya are the purifiers. There are two ways of purification: the ordinary nature of the yogi's skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas, and at the time of accumulating wisdom, the emptiness of objects, that is, the emptiness of purification, and the clarity of mind, the two being inseparable, abiding in the union of clarity and emptiness. When arising from that samadhi, without allowing ordinary appearances to arise, visualize the nature of the mandala and the deity, and regard that as inseparable from conventional appearances. This is the way of purification through samadhi yoga. After arising from samadhi, in the subsequent conduct, as soon as the clinging to the ordinary arises due to the habitual imprints on the appearing objects, seize it with mindfulness and cultivate the thought, "This is the deity," thereby elevating it. This is the way of purification through subsequent conduct yoga. Since the object to be purified is the same for both samadhi and subsequent conduct, the way of purification is the same, which is to abandon conceptual thoughts. Furthermore, visualizing the pride of the deity on the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas, and at the time of accumulating wisdom, it is not to generate pride in the true existence of the meaning of "I," but to purify the defilement of clinging to reality with the view, and merely on the level of conventional appearance, to abandon various ordinary conceptual thoughts, therefore visualize the deity. As the Hevajra Tantra says, "Having made poisonless with purity, these stable ones are indeed stable." This explains that the poison of the self-grasping of universal imputation is purified by the view, and the ordinary conceptual thoughts of universal imputation are abandoned by the generation stage. Accumulating the collection of wisdom, the "I" of the meaning of mantra, refers to the union of clarity and emptiness that exists in all stages of the ground, path, and fruition. As the Two Inquiries says, "From me all beings arise, from me also the three realms arise, I pervade all this, the nature of beings..."
