It is said that this is the most powerful and glorious of all, and among the wrathful deities, it is the slayer of Yama. Other wrathful deities, upon seeing him, drop their weapons and tremble. Then, when the Bhagavan, the Thus-gone One, abided in the vajra lady's bhaga of all, at the request of Vajrapani, he spoke the nineteen successively divided tantras of Red Yama. Furthermore, when the Bhagavan merged into one with all the Thus-gone Ones and resided in the bhaga of the selflessness mother, the goddess respectfully said, "Listen!" Then he extensively spoke the tantras of Red Yama. Vajrapani made the compilation of the teachings. The pandita Chandrakirti and the translator Drakpa Gyaltsen and others translated it into Tibetan. The Indian texts for these tantras are: the thirteen-deity mandala composed by the Indian siddha Palden; the five-deity mandala composed by Virupa; and the single principal deity mandala composed by Vajrasana. Here, it refers to the single principal deity. This lineage is: the Bhagavan Great Vajradhara; the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani; Vajrayogini; the pandita Abhayakara; the pandita Indrapada; the pandita Gautama Shri; the pandita Kirti; the translator Kirti Dhaja; the master Rinchen Jungden; the lama Rinpoche Gungpa; the master Sonam Pel; the master Tsultrim Gyaltsen; the lama Kunga Rinchen; the khenchen Sonam Chokdrub; the lama Gedun Gyaltsen; the lama Jampel Drubchen Kirti Shri; Situ Chokyi Gocha; Jetsun Wangchuk Dorje; Garwang Chokyi Wangchuk; the holder of the pitaka, Vishvadha, I, Raga Asya. Therefore, from the new tradition's thirteen-deity system, the five-deity system, the new and old treasure traditions, and the celestial dharma, many types of Red Yama, the slayer of Yama, have arisen, and one has received the appropriate empowerments and transmissions. Although the faces, hand gestures, and mantras may differ, because the essence of the meaning is the same, the lineage of blessings is united as one. Therefore, for us, the slayer of all sentient beings is not Yama; there is not a single sentient being that does not die, and ultimately, all must go to the mouth of Yama. From the Buddhas of the three times down to the tiny worms on the lamp wicks, the great power that takes the life force is the Lord of Death, Yama.

The one named 'Wrathful One' appears. This deity is the executioner who destroys Yama, so if you receive the empowerment of this deity, you can dispel Yama's messengers, untimely death, virulent diseases, impending death, enemies, seven burial grounds, four types of killing, six types of harm, executioners, and other harms. When facing the danger of the Lord of Death, Yama, hold the mouth of Yama's executioner. Thus it is said. The benefits of these mantras are: In the tantra, whatever your Hitti (transliteration) secret mantra is, it can dispel the confusion of the three realms. A hundred thousand mantras can cause all bhutas and dakinis to dissipate. If you can become Yama's executioner, you can destroy and contemplate the pretas. If the yogi himself recites a million times, all actions will be accomplished. Reciting ten million times will grant siddhis, not to mention reciting fifty million times. With the secret mantra of Hrih Lli, you can dispel the confusion of the three realms. Thus it is said. By the power of this secret mantra, I can attain Buddhahood and become the master of the three realms. If you diligently practice the secret mantra, you can walk in the sky with your retinue, without any doubt. Make the sound of a great drum, and wherever the sound is heard, the opposing army will be completely liberated, and all forms will be revealed. If you recite a million secret mantras, it will be accomplished for me and can be used well. It can grant the siddhis gathered in Jambudvipa. Because you do not know Yama's executioner, his labor is fruitless. This is the king of all tantras, the supreme one among the tantras, the mantra and secret mantra are short, and it can be accomplished by merely reciting it. Thus it is said. Therefore, its power and blessings are extremely great, easy to accomplish, and compassionate quickly. In order to receive the profound empowerment, first offer a mandala. Anoint the ground with incense water, etc. Recite this supplication, please repeat after me: You are my great bliss teacher, please listen to my heart! Please show the great way of Bodhi, I am the great protector, I need you! Please grant me the vows, please grant me Bodhicitta, the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, please grant me refuge! Please escort me into the great city of liberation! Recite this three times, or recite the last sentence.
