I visualize myself clearly as an illusory body. On the crown of my head, which is clear in this way, is (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om). At my throat is (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आ, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Ah). At my heart is (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum). From the Hūṃ at my heart, rays of light emanate, From the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain, the palace of lotus light, I invite Guru Padmasambhava of Oddiyana, surrounded by an immeasurable assembly of countless Buddhas, like an opening sesame pod. I meditate that they dissolve into the students, seeping in. Hīḥ! In the first of ancient kalpas, in the northwest of the land of Oddiyana, on a lotus stamen tree, he attained the supreme and wondrous accomplishment. He is known as Padmasambhava. He is surrounded by many dakinis. In order for me to practice following you, for the sake of blessing, please come! Please bestow your blessings on this supreme place, grant me the supreme accomplishment, bestow the four empowerments, dispel obstacles, wrong views, and hindrances, and grant supreme and common accomplishments! Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Tötreng Tsal Vajra Samaya Dzasiddhi Phala Hum Ah. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་བཛྲ་གུ་རུ་པདྨ་ཐོད་ཕྲེང་རྩལ་བཛྲ་ས་མ་ཡ་ཛསིདྡྷི་ཕ་ལ་ཧཱུྃ་ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ आः हूँ वज्र गुरु पद्म तोतेंग चल वज्र समय जासिद्धि फाला हूँ आः, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ vajra guru padma toteṅg cal vajra samaya jāsiddhi phālā hūṃ āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Tötreng Tsal Vajra Samaya Dzasiddhi Phala Hum Ah) Recite the mantra three times. Generate faith that the wisdom being becomes stable. Tiṣṭha! Vajra! (Tibetan: ཏིཥྛ, Sanskrit Devanagari: तिष्ठ, Sanskrit Romanization: tiṣṭha, Chinese literal meaning: Stay!) (Tibetan: བཛྲ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र, Sanskrit Romanization: vajra, Chinese literal meaning: Vajra) Place the vajra on the crown of the head. If you bestow this empowerment many times, then the above is done once as the first time, otherwise it is not necessary to do it regularly. Now, in order to request the longevity empowerment, please repeat after me: The very essence of all Buddhas of the three times, The supreme guide who liberates all beings without exception, Orgyen Padma Rigdzin Tsepakme, please bless my body, speech, and mind, and grant me the accomplishment of immortal life! Recite three times. Now, in order to make aspirations, please repeat after me: Four hundred and four types of diseases, twenty-one thousand inauspicious circumstances, three hundred and sixty kinds of evil spirits, eighty thousand types of obstructing spirits, and so on, all unfavorable conditions that obstruct life, may all be purified and cleansed! Do it once or three times. Now, this vase is a precious vase on the outside, and inside is a four-sided palace with four doors, adorned with ornaments and horse steps. In the center, on a lotus and moon cushion, is Orgyen Padma Tsepakme, completely adorned with ornaments, holding a longevity vase inside a kapala in his left hand. On his forehead is a white wheel marked with (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om), at his throat is a red lotus marked with (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आ, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Ah), at his heart is a blue vajra marked with (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum), at his navel is a yellow jewel marked with (Tibetan: སཱུ, Sanskrit Devanagari: सु, Sanskrit Romanization: sū, Chinese literal meaning: Su), and at his secret place is a multicolored vajra marked with (Tibetan: ཧཱ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह, Sanskrit Romanization: hā, Chinese literal meaning: Ha). From the ground, rays of light of various colors radiate, filling the sky. All the life and merit of samsara and nirvana, the vessel and its contents, are gathered. In particular, as white rays of light, like iron hooks, radiate to the east, the life wandering in the hands of the eastern Gandharvas returns. All that has been stolen and plundered is gathered, the light's bindu white and shimmering, oily and condensed, marked by the green letter ཀྲྀ་ (Tibetan ཀྲྀ་, Devanagari कृ, Romanized Sanskrit kṛ, meaning 'to do'), immeasurable amounts are gathered, and seep into the body from the crown aperture. Similarly, as yellow rays of light, like lassos, radiate to the south, the life wandering in the hands of the southern Yama returns. All that has been stolen and plundered is gathered. As red rays of light, like iron chains, radiate to the west, the life wandering in the hands of the western Naga demons returns. All that has been stolen and plundered is gathered. Again, as green rays of light, shaped like bells, radiate to the north, the life wandering in the hands of the northern Yakshas returns. All that has been stolen and plundered is gathered. As blue rays of light radiate upwards, the gods of the form realm, such as Brahma, and, the gods of the desire realm, such as Indra, the demons of the sons of gods in the upper direction, and the life wandering in the hands of planets and stars, returns. All that has been stolen and plundered is gathered. Again, as rays of light of various colors radiate downwards, the life wandering in the hands of all the Nagas, fierce spirits, and earth lords, such as Nanda and Upananda, returns. All that has been stolen and plundered, the light's bindu white and shimmering, oily and condensed, marked by the green letter ཏྲཾ་ (Tibetan ཏྲཾ་, Devanagari त्रं, Romanized Sanskrit traṃ, meaning 'to save'), immeasurable amounts are gathered, and seep into the body from the crown aperture. All the diminished essence, life, and breath are fully restored, and one obtains deathless life and a vajra-like life. Meditate on being radiant and blazing with light. གྷི༔ The outer is a vase, the inner is filled with nectar, the secret meaning is the lotus Amitayus, in the five places are five hand gestures and five syllables, immeasurable rays of light radiate, filling the sky. ཧྲཱིཿ From the hands of the eastern Gandharvas, hook with an iron hook! From the hands of the southern Yama, hook with a lasso! From the hands of the western Naga demons, hook with an iron chain! From the hands of the northern Yakshas, hook with a bell! From the hands of the upper Brahma and Indra, hook! From the hands of the lower Nanda and Upananda, hook! Connect the severed life, hook back the returning, the broken.
