My guide, the all-knowing one! If one becomes sharp-witted, following the Dharma is excellent. I heard directly from your mouth. Thinking that I too should become a follower of the Dharma, I began to learn the basics of reading and writing, and the connection to Tibetan grammar and so on. Writing Lantsa script and Ugyen script, and combinations of five-syllable phrases and beyond, I can write and understand a little. I also made connections with the science of sound, such as the sound aids for mantras and many methods of recitation. I also made some connections with poetry, rhetoric, and synonyms, clearing up doubts. I established connections with generalities, cause and effect, substance, opposites, universals, particulars, pervasion, and the connection of words. I grasped a little of the two intentions of Manjushri, the ocean of culture, and likewise, I made connections with Madhyamaka, Prajnaparamita, Vinaya, and Abhidharma. I marked most of the words of the texts, and if I were to debate, it would only be to the extent of a brief touch, just a slight connection. I have looked at and practiced the Four Medical Tantras, miscellaneous experiential notes, etc., and there is nothing I do not understand. I have given a general explanation of herbal medicine once. I have also learned a little about drawing and sculpture. I have established connections with the measurement of deities, the measurement of mandalas, and the measurement of stoves and stupas. I have learned a lot about divination for the dead, divination for the living, divination for marriage, and divination for birth and fortune, causes, counter-causes, prosperity, decline, and geomancy. I have learned a lot about making tormas, repelling, fulfilling, propitiating deities, suppressing evil spirits, and ransom tormas, white tormas, instructions, and many rituals. In short, I have definitely made some kind of connection with almost all major and minor cultures. Drogon Sakya Pandita said: Although a foolish person has much knowledge, they cannot illuminate like the stars. One who masters one thing illuminates the world. Because of this saying, some qualified Geshes say: One must reach the end in one thing. According to that system, whatever the text, one must keep that text in mind, as well as the commentary on that text, and the general meaning, and then, relying on the teacher's oral instructions, make combinations, and then give extensive explanations and oral transmissions, and finally, it is beneficial to debate the beginning and end of the book, holding the views of one's own school and other schools in one's mind. Keep the reasoning of one's own school's truth deep in one's heart, and sharpen the intellect to destroy the views of others. Then, in order to cut off its boundaries

Examining all the great commentaries of other systems, The Kampa scholars are known throughout the world, It is said that they memorized thirty-two volumes Of the great commentary on the Pramāṇavārttika alone. Doing so is considered being a scholar, Otherwise, without scriptures and commentaries in mind, Even if the understanding is good, it is just a taste of understanding, One will not be called a scholar recognized by the monastery, If one imitates those who do not follow the teacher's oral instructions and reasoning, Even if the understanding is great, It is called "the merit of the black-mouthed, black-lettered Acharya," Which is not recognized as merit in epistemology. Furthermore, some Geshes say that, Even mastering just one field of knowledge, Is impossible before attaining Buddhahood. For example, even just the end of writing, It is said that there are sixty-four types of scripts. Not included in that are the treasure scripts, which are immeasurable. In this Jambudvipa, languages are not the same, There are about one thousand and eight types. Each of these is the structure of the channels, The shape of each channel knot is a letter. Thus, if letters themselves are limitless, What need is there to mention other fields of knowledge? Wishing to exhaust everything is like measuring the sky with an arm span. If one wishes to be a scholar without exhausting everything, Then in both China and Tibet, as great scholars of Madhyamaka, Known like the sun and moon, Chandrakirti did not exhaust Madhyamaka. The sky will not cause birds to return because it is exhausted, Similarly, this is because one's own power is exhausted that one returns. Etc., it is said in the Madhyamakāvatāra itself. In Tibet, the two great scholars, the Omniscient and Buton, Even drawing sand mandalas with sixteen iron pens each, Could not exhaust it. Therefore, the time of being a scholar and exhausting everything, Does not exist until one attains omniscience. The cause for attaining omniscience is, Now connecting all fields of knowledge, If one makes aspirations, it will become the cause of omniscience, One should connect all fields of knowledge. Regarding these two views, the latter, As my way, I, Ra ga Asya, Connect all fields of knowledge. Then gradually entered the Buddha's teachings, Well received the three vows in order, Received initiations of sixty mandalas, Received different symbolic initiations, subsequent permissions, and instructions, About three hundred and sixty types.
