If "Ma" is the cause, and if one wants to understand its relationship with the result, then one also needs to understand cessation, because cessation is the result that is free from the fabrication of the path. If one wants to consider merely knowing the path as a power, then because the path is conditioned, there are nine knowledges besides the knowledge of cessation. Thus, this is what is said to be the different views. The two powers of remembering past lives and knowing death and rebirth are conventional wisdom, and not others, because these do not aim at the truth. For example, remembering past lives is remembering one's own and others' past lives. Knowing death, transmigration, the intermediate state, and birth is knowing one's own and others' future existence. These aim at their own characteristics and do not involve the general characteristic of selflessness, therefore they do not aim at the truth. If, through the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements, one only wants to understand the truth of cessation, which is the exhaustion of defilements, then there are six: knowledge of the Dharma, subsequent knowledge, knowledge of cessation, knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising, and conventional knowledge, because it is only the category of knowledge of cessation that is distinguished by the differences of knowledge of the Dharma, etc., and because it is unconditioned, it is impossible to know the other three truths and to know the minds of others. However, if one considers the knowledge of exhaustion to be the knowledge that exists in the continuum of the exhaustion of defilements, then because all knowledge arises in that continuum, there are ten knowledges. Now we will explain the grounds on which these depend. Among them, the two powers of remembering past lives and knowing death and rebirth exist in the four foundations of meditative concentration, because these are generated through meditative concentration that combines calm abiding and insight, and others are not like that. The remaining eight powers (because these are the grounds for abandoning lower realms, not for generating qualities), except for the latter seven access concentrations, exist in all grounds, because they are easy to generate. The uncontaminated ones depend on the uncontaminated grounds as appropriate. The powers included in conventional knowledge are considered to depend on all grounds. However, these are known through completely pure meditative concentration, therefore they are consi

It usually relies on the mind with four determinations. The basis of the body is because Buddhas do not appear in other continents, other realms, or other beings, and because the basis of women and their thoughts and actions are inferior, it is believed that it only relies on men in Jambudvipa. Then, why is it that these ten kinds of wisdom, which are also present in Sravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, etc., each in their own way, are called the powers only of the Buddha? These ten kinds of wisdom possessed by the Buddha are powers, because this wisdom can penetrate all knowable things without obstruction. Therefore, apart from the Buddha, others also have some knowledge of what is and is not, but because they know some things and do not know others, they are obstructed by knowable things, so they cannot obtain the name of "power." For example, the venerable Sariputra did not know the virtuous roots of the householder Dpal skyes that are in accordance with liberation, so he did not liberate him, and he did not know the end of the cycle of birth and death of a bird caught in a net. In this way, because there is no obstruction to wisdom, the power of the Buddha's mind is as limitless as knowable things. So, if the power of the mind is so unobstructed, what about the power of the body? The body of the Buddha has the power of the son of Sred med. The so-called "son of Sred med" is the name of power, just as the sixtieth place in numbers is called "innumerable." Other previous teachers said that each bone joint of the body has the power of the son of Sred med. (The Yogacarabhumi also says: Each bone joint of all the body's joints has the power of the son of Sred med.) The venerable Bhiksu who shows examples says that just as the power of the mind is limitless, so is the power of the body, and if it were not so, how could the power of the mind endure it? Therefore, the difference in bone joints is that they are as hard as dragon knots, strings of pearls, and nails, according to the order of Buddhas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Cakravartins. So, what is the measure of the power of the son of Sred med? Ordinary elephants, and incense elephants included in "etc.," and strong
